How to unlock the Unlock Master achievement

Edit: I don't know if this only happened to me or if others have found this, but once I finished this I'd unlocked... 35 items. Very strange. It popped on the one before my last one. So if you notice that it thinks you've unlocked more than you have, obviously start buying the cheaper ones. smile

Okay, this will take...a ridiculous number of points, 41,770 to be exact. (Edit: I SCREWED UP THAT NUMBER. Thanks BusyRich for pointing it out.)

Yes, that's right, 41,770. If you're lucky, you might get a couple hundred in one game for answer prizes AND a top 3 finish...if the game gives you that bonus. I've won several games with no bonus. $%@*#&@!!!!

I'd like to see the ability to earn points significantly increase... here's hoping. In any case...

Here's a list of what they are and what they boost. Thanks to everyone who gave info; I just wanted to make sure there was a list.

My suggestion is to hold off on spending KP until you can get the bow and arrow at 1820 KP. This adds 3 seconds for every question you complete (even if you skip or OUST), which makes it a LOT easier to finish more questions. Also use the answer spreadsheet that Shadow Kisuragi has started here (and please consider helping, since new questions are always appearing): https://goo.gl/oQQ1pW

This is set to 9 items per row. I'm on PC. I've been told that this may not be the case for everyone.

#1 (10 KP): Rubber Duck: +5 seconds game time
#2 (20 KP): Baseball: +7 Seconds Game Time
#3 (30 KP): Comedy pin badge: +5 Sec game time, +1 Hint
    #4 (50 KP): Jar of coins: +1 point/question

Truly, best of luck in this grind.

KingyOwlThe fastest way to get kudos points is through the new daily challenges. Todays for example offers a bonus 50KP per game if achieved in addition to your end of game leaderboard points. This one definitely takes less time than it used to.

Gunstar RedLast update also added something called Concepts which adds a power up to each item. Not sure if it's worth updating the guide to add each item's concept. You can read about them under Options then Info.

Like Sashamorning said in the other solution, this will require 41770KP, which is an absurd amount. Luckily, I found a way to automate this game to grind out KP while you're away. I had it running for about an hour and came back to see an additional ~450KP. It's slow, but if you leave it running whenever you aren't using your computer, it can get you the required amount with minimal effort.

So my method involves, much like you'd expect, a macro. Download the program TinyTask (http://www.vtaskstudio.com/support.php) and in the TinyTask settings, change the recording hotkey to Prnt Scrn and turn Continuous Playback on. Now, go into Gimme Five and start a game. Now follow these exact instructions, and try to do it as quickly as possible. The shorter your recording is, the faster you'll get KP.

    1) Start the recording by hitting Prnt Scrn.

    2) Now you want to alternate between clicking the OUST and three answer boxes until you've clicked all the answers. Use the picture below to get an understanding of where exactly to click. Make sure to click exactly where the X's are (i.e the tops of the bottom three answers, the left and right of the answers on the sides, the bottom of the middle answer and the tops of the top three answers). Do this exact sequence of clicks:

Click OUST, then X1, then X2, then X3, then OUST, then X4, then X5, then X6, then OUST, then X7, then X8, then X9.

    External image

    3) End the recording by hitting Prnt Scrn.

Now, once you get into the after-game screen with the top 10 players list, click Ctrl+Shift+Alt+P to play the recording. This will begin the grind for you. In case you're wondering why this works, here's exactly what's going on:

By alternating between hitting OUST and the three answer boxes, it's guaranteeing that it will complete the first question for you, every time. Since you have three lives (meaning you have to click four incorrect answers to lose), even if the game loads up right after it clicks where the OUST is, it will only click three answers before clicking OUST. Worst case scenario, you lose your extra lives before the question is answered, but then it uses OUST and will then click through the last six answer boxes, guaranteeing the completion of that question. For the next question, you won't have an OUST remaining, so it will just start clicking answers until it loses. The precise clicks that I laid out on the picture are to avoid hitting the Continue button after you lose, which would lose you some KP. After the game ends and the after-game screen appears, it will click the Play Again button when it would normally click the bottom right answer box (the bottom right answer box and the Play Again button are in the exact same spot), so it will start up the next round for you, thus resetting the cycle.

Like I said, it's slow, but it works. It will get you additional KP on top of the KP you get when you play regularly. So whenever you aren't using your computer, let your macro run so you get some extra KP to make purchases. It's also worth noting that this achievement will work towards all of the following achievements...

This is an alternative, faster, macro to Noodles Jr 's macro, but it will only work if you have a 1920x1080 screen resolution. Not only will it earn you Kudos points for unlocking things on the Kudos Wall, but it will also make progress towards your total questions answered, time played, and level.

    1) Go here, and download the latest version of AutoHotkey:
    https://www.autohotkey.com/

    2) After finishing installing it, right click your desktop, hover over "New", and click "Auto Hotkey Script".

    3) Name the file, "Gimme Five.ahk"

    4) Right click the script, click edit script, delete the notice that is in the notepad, and paste the following code into the script:

    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

    5) Exit out of the script. Make sure to save.

    6) Double click the script on your desktop to run the script.

    7) Open up Gimme Five. Equip the "Trainer" powerup from the Kudos wall, if you have it. (It costs 1540 KP, if you don't have it) Start a game. Once the screen with a famous quote has gone away and the game has started, press Ctrl+J. This will activate the script.

Here is what the script does: The script will click on the skip button. Then, when you run out of skips, it will use an OUST (the blue powerup). Once you use that, it will guess randomly by clicking on all nine options. After all the skips and the OUST has been used, it usually doesn't get past two or three more questions. Then, when the results screen shows, the position that is the bottom left answer is the same as the "Play Again" button. When the macro goes to click on that, a new game will start. The process will repeat, and you will earn Kudos Points and progress towards your questions answered and play time achievements.

    8) Leave your computer while you go to work/school/sleep/etc.

    9) When you return to your computer, to stop the script, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Click on Task Manager. Find the application that says "AutoHotkey" (you may have to click "More Details" for it to appear). Click on it and then click on "End Task". This will stop the script.

Using this macro will progress you towards the following achievements and all achievements leading up to them:

Gimme Five (Windows)Level 50The Level 50 achievement in Gimme Five (Windows) worth 106 pointsReach player level 50

Gimme Five (Windows)AddictionThe Addiction achievement in Gimme Five (Windows) worth 104 pointsPlay 1000 games of Gimme Five

MathGuy42I know the game has been updated a few times, so it may be that the best method has changed a bit.

I'm having the best luck using Potato (1870 KP). That gives 3 extra lives and the Luck concept (increasing the chance of a KP bonus from 2% to 4%, I think per correct click). I also commented out the Skip presses with a semicolon, since it seems to waste time now:
    ;MouseMove, 1550, 800
    ;MouseClick

With this method, I'm getting a bit more than 1000 KP per hour. Acorn (with the Skips removed) was giving about 850 KP per hour. The 3 extra lives give more green click opportunities, and hence more KP bonus opportunities. You always get to Question 3, sometimes even 4.
