You probably already got a Drift Tap skill in the past doing races or just by driving around in freeroam.
You perform a
Drift Tap skill when you
hit an object (such as a wall or a building and such) with the
back side of your car, and this whilst
drifting!
This might require some practice though.
Now, this must to be done in a
GT Car.
I) The ones I've found in the
Autoshow are:
- 2007 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione : 300,000 Credits
- 2015 Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept : 550,000 Credits (
DLC required!!)
- 2013 BMW M6 Coupé : 120,000 Credits
- 2008 Ferrari California : 150,000 Credits
- 2015 Jaguar F-Type R Coupé : 110,000 Credits
- 2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S : 156,000 Credits
- 2014 Rolls-Royce Wraith : 310,000 Credits
- 2016 Rolls-Royce Dawn : 340,000 Credits
(- 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed : 242,000 Credits -> see
TheOtherBarber's warning about this car
not counting for this the challenge despite being labeled as GT Car!)
EDIT
II)
Free Bentley:
- 2017 Bentley Continental Supersports :
FREE if you do the "Blistering Acceleration" challenge. This car also being labeled as GT Car counts towards this challenge. Thanks
OMG IT5 EJ for checking and confirming this!
This is a lot of money for some of them cars.
Just remember that if you load up the Forza Hub (from the menu in-game or through the X1 App), you will get some Credits as a reward for your loyalty to the Forza series.
You can also check in the Auction House if there's a good bargain somewhere.
Either a Drift Tap skill performed during freeroam or in a race, both do count for this challenge.
Once you see "Drift Tap" appear on screen, you may consider it as for granted, even if you lose your combo shortly afterwards.
Meaning, you don't have to "bank" the Drift Tap skill to make it count.
Note: the Xbox's challenge tracker doesn't work. i.e. if you see Drift Tap on your screen, you might not see any progress in the Xbox challenge tracker, but the game will know you did one. At least, that's what happened to me
In the following vid, I'm only showing the last Drift Tap skill I've obtained (1:52).
Reason for this, was that I had already done 2 Drift Tap skills in freeroam, but the challenge tracker wasn't showing any progress.
Since I was doubting if freeroam would actually work, or perhaps the car I was driving didn't fit in the GT Cars category, I decided to try a race instead.
That's where I got the 3rd and last one needed for this challenge.
(Please note : the clips were recorded by Xbox One's Game DVR. Therefore, any eventual unlocking achievements appeared on my screen were not registered by the Game DVR)Alternative method:- This good tip from
vertigo6932 in the comments if you're struggling doing the races at Surfers Paradise (or somewhere else) : try doing the
loop around the
Byron Bay Festival.
As promised earlier today, I made a quick vid about the alternative method doing loops at Byron's Bay Festival as suggested by vertigo6932.
I did this using my Dummy account, hence the Level 1 Festival.
But, as you can see, I was a bit struggling as doing the Drift Taps on gravel isn't so easy.
To make it a little easier on me, I downloaded a DRIFT car tune for the car.
Anyways, this vid's only purpose is to give you an overall idea about the Festival loop (last drift tap at 1:47, challenge unlocking shortly after)
Alternative method (from me ):If you don't want to be stressed out by the other drivatars in a race, and you want to do it in freeroam but you want the road all for yourself, then you might want to consider this:
- Make sure you're driving one of the cars listed up here (GT Cars category).
- Go to Mcintosh Park Blueprint (it's in Surfers Paradise).
- Choose to create your own blueprint. As for the parameters, just set anything you prefer (day, night, rain, whatever ...). Set the course wherever you want to.
- Set traffic to "No"
- Complete the blueprint, but before making it public, adjust time to whatever you want in order to give you as long as you want to.
- There's a nice long stretch along the canal where you can try the Drift Taps on.
- But
(!), if you find my blueprint useful enough, add me as a friend on xbox live, drive to the Mcintosh Park blueprint, and you can start the one I created. It has all you need (car type and car tune, blueprint time, traffic & weather conditions, etc...) to get your challenge done. You can delete me from your friends list afterwards.
Here's a vid to show you the process, where to go, all alone on the roads...
Drift Taps are done on 3:14 , 3:46 and 4:11.
Of course, no in-game challenge popping this time, as I already got it earlier...
Thanks for voting thumbs up if the guide was useful.
Any suggestions to improve the guide are welcome.
Good luck!
