  I, as many, struggled with this, as the ingredient list is misleading.
  
  

  
  There are only two things needed, sherry wine and an empty bottle.
  
  Sherry wine is a the top of the ladder, after pushing it right in the general store.
  
  Empty bottle is right next to rosaries on his kitchen counter.
  
  Head to Blouins and simply interact with his makeshift still, and make some caribou. Return to rosaries and trade it for the coat.

  Head to Rosaire's, after he tries to blow your face to kingdom come. He'll chat abit. Interact with the coat and he'll tell you it isn't leaving the shack for free.
  
  You need to get him some Caribou.
  
  Caribou is an alcoholic drink made from sherry. Save yourself some time and head to the general store. Now earlier in the story, you had to move a ladder behind the counter, climb it to find sherry. Scattered around the map are empty bottles, you'll need one of those too.
  
  Head to Blovin's, the game calls it 'House of the Patriot', at the back is a distillary. Use it to het the Caribou. Head back to Rosaire and make the trade.
