When you get to a hidden objects puzzle you can pause the game to stop the in game timer. You can still easily see everything fine while paused. This allows you to take your time searching for everything. When you find an item just unpause the game, grab the item, then pause the game to stop the timer. Keep doing this until you've found all items. Searching while the game is paused allows you to take all the time you need.
