To get this achievement you need to perform Daily Challenges to gain enough points to earn a Bronze Medal. You can earn 1 Bronze medal for each month you play so you will need to play for a minimum of 12 months to earn the achievement.

The game officially only allows you to play challenges in the current month but there is a way to play the Daily Challenges in previous months by changing the system date to a previous date, this allows you to gain the 12 medals required quicker.

This method is the same as most of the other Daily Challenge Badge guides suggest, for months from Apr 2017 onward you can complete the daily challenges as normal, for months prior to Apr 2017 there are 3 rules you need to follow else the game gives you the message 'There was a problem loading Daily Challenge Data'. You will then have to close and re-open the game to do another challenge in that month.

The first 2 rules for date prior to Apr 2017 are:

Firstly you can only perform 1 challenge at a time and once selected you cannot change to another challenge. If you fail it you can re-try it again (there is a Re-Try button) but once complete, or if you try and change it, you will get the message above every time you click another challenge.

Secondly you have to start the game in an 'active' time period or you will get the message above as soon as you select the daily challenges. This 'active' time period appears to be April 2017 onward but this might change.

These are the main rules, so to help here is the process to follow:

    0. Make sure system date is set to an 'active' time period (Rule 2).

    1. Launch game and wait for the Summary screen to appear.
    2. Change system date to required month and change day if required to access more challenges for the month.
    3. Select the Daily Challenge option, then select required day on calendar and finally a Challenge for that day (Rule 1 and also note Rule 3 below).
    4. Set system date back to an 'active' time period before completing challenge. (See NoodlesJr Tip in comments - this reduces the points needed to reach the medal target)
    5. Complete the Challenge - Remember if you fail you can hit the Re-try button else you will need to close and repeat from point 1.
    6. Once complete the points are awarded and you can close the game.

As you have changed the date back to an 'active' time period in step 4 you can repeat from steps 1 until you reach the Bronze medal.

The third rule is you cannot select a Crossword challenge outside of the 'active' time period as they do not work. If you select a Crossword challenge you will get the error message above and you will need to close the program and start from point 0 again.

This final rule means you cannot get the 500 Point Bonus for completing a day so it will take more challenges, repeating the sequence above, to get to the target for Bronze.
It also hinders getting a Silver medal and Gold is out of the question.

Thanks to NoodlesJr tip Silver can now be reached easily too and Gold is also possible.

If you follow these rules you should not have too many problems, but for an easier time you can just tow the line and complete each month as it comes and forget this guide even exists. music

Well that's it, a lot of text for 20G, good luck.

You know the drill: Any negatives let me know first etc, etc wink

KGaAI found a way to get 12 Bronze medals now!

    1. Uninstall the game! (Don't worry!)
    2. Install the game, but don't start the game yet.
    3. Load Xbox app to make sure you are logged in.
    4. Switch the internet connection to offline!
    5. Start the game offline.
    6. After the loading screen (about 1 min), resume the internet connection.
    7. Now you will see a fresh profile with 0 medal, but you still have all achievement progress.
    8. Adjust the date, to get a few more Bronze medals. They will all be counted into the achievement progress. Easy 12 Bronze now! No need to wait until March 2018.

P.S. If you are online and start the game , it will sync back the online profile. So the next time, you may want to start from Step 4 to keep this local profile and work on Silver and Gold medals.

Corn 0nThe CobbI think they patched this (being able to go back in time). When I change my time before opening the game, the game gets stuck on the loading screen forever. If I first open up the game, then change the time back a year, everything gets screwy. It'll let me complete one challenge but then I'm stuck in the challenge with no way out except to close the game.

If someone else is still able to time travel, please post here so I'll be notified! I'm wondering if it's just me. Or, if it's not just me - can I just find an older version of the game before they made this change? Or was it a server-side change, because in that case there's nothing we can do.

I found another way to get this quicker. Requires two Win10 devices. You basically use the second device to save the game just short of the medal. Then you overwrite the first device and repeat.

Get to 1900 coins regularly through the challenges on device 1 (100 short of bronze).
    Close Word on device 1
Open Word on device 2 so the progress syncs. Play a play it now in one of the games to ensure it sticks.
    Close Word on device 2.
Turn on airplane mode or disable wifi on device 2.
Open word on device 1 and complete an easy challenge to get the bronze medal.
    ***********************************************
Check progress to ensure achievement counter has gone up by one.
    Close word on device one.
    Open word on device two.
Since it is offline, it doesn't sync the progress for the daily challenge. Play a quick play in one of the games and finish it. This creates a newer local save than what is on the cloud.
    Close word on device two.
Reconnect to internet on device two.
Open word on device two. It will ask if you want to use the cloud save or the local save.
Choose the local save (newer). You may get an error message, and also ask about signing into this device.
Play a play it now in one of the games to ensure it updates.
Close word on device two after 30 seconds to give it time to sync.
Turn on airplane mode or disable wifi on device 2.
Open word on device one and sync to the cloud save. It will overwrite the local save with the save that has 1900 coins.
Complete a single easy challenge to get the bronze medal.
Repeat from the line of stars.

I tried this on other Microsoft causal games (solitaire and mahjong) and the process does not work for those.

To get a bronze medal for a month you need to complete approximately 3 full days worth of challenges.

For tips on completing challenges, refer to my guide for the Perfection achievement:
Microsoft Ultimate Word Games (Windows)Strive for PerfectionThe Strive for Perfection achievement in Microsoft Ultimate Word Games (Windows) worth 148 pointsComplete every Daily Challenge in a month.

This achievement was bugged in a semi-positive way until mid-May 2017 ... Silver medals were counting as bronze medals, allowing you to earn two points towards this achievement per month (at the cost of no silver credit).

The bug fix was not retroactive, meaning early players could have received double bronze credit in April and May (but no silvers). As such, the earliest this achievement can be unlocked is February 2018.

AP E JCThere is also a nice trick if you still have the old beta version. Since they changed the requirements for all medals, you can earn the same medal twice. Just pass the required points for the medal in both versions (beta and current) and you will be done with this and all other medals in half the time.
