Leveling Up Leveling up is fairly straight forward; simply play games to earn xp. There are a few tips i can share to make leveling up faster however.
Note:
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***There are other ways to level up depending on your own personal skill level. In this guide i mainly focus on Icons unlocked through leveling up with the exception of sunny because the is very easy to unlock. There are other (lower and higher) icons unlocked through World Tour that are similar to Sunny in that they give a far greater xp boost than icons unlocked at the same level as the club is available. I dont mention these in this guide however because they have much harder unlock requirements.
Feel free to experiment with these icons if you have the ability to unlock them, as they will speed up your level progression.
First off, Set the difficulty in the options to hard in order to get the maximum xp per game. This does not make the game charts any harder, it simply increases the damage to your health for every missed note (hard will remove 50% of you HP per missed note). DJ Icons with a break shield can be used to negate this damage for a certain number of misses.
Once you start playing, be sure to keep updating your DJ icon to the best possible XP boost that is available. You may have to wait until you unlock the next tier XP boost with a shield break if you are having trouble staying alive on hard difficulty.
Once you hit level 50, you will have access to club 12 in World Tour mode. In club 12 you will find a challenge called OblitioN, which will require you to clear the song "Love is Real" on 6TRAX FX with MORE than 20 breaks. Head over to the options and change the difficulty to easy and pass the challenge, being sure to allow over 20 "break" judgements along the way. The reward for beating this challenge is the DJ icon "Sunny", which gives a 160% xp boost AND a 20 break shield. When compared to the icons being unlocked at ~level 50 (~100% xp and ~10 break shield) it will be fairly obvious that this is the new icon that you will want to use.
Remember to change your difficulty back to hard after unlocking Sunny and continue to level up.
At level 60 you will have 2 options for leveling up (there are probably more but these are the 2 im going to explain). The first method requires a lot of skill in the game, whilst the second method requires no more skill than you have had to get this far. It is worth noting however, that although this section is only about leveling up, you will actually need to complete the hard method (with the exception of beating "Aftermath" challenge) to unlock this actual achievement.
The first (and hard) option is to complete all 14 clubs in World Tour mode to unlock club 15. Within club 15 you will find a challenge called "Aftermath" which requires you to beat "souls of Vampire EX" with Ghost situation enabled and at least 95% accuracy. Upon completion, you will unlock the DJ Icon "Katie". Katie gives a 500% xp boost and a 500% HP boost, making it by far the best icon for leveling up, as the highest xp boost from any other icon is 200%. The Hp boost also makes it possible to survive most songs without having to lower the difficulty (depending on your skill level of course, but since you have this icon, it should be a minimum of most songs). If you have this icon, use it to level all the way up to 99.
The second (and easy) option is to continue using Sunny up to level 80, which is roughly when the icons unlocked from leveling start to match her Xp boost. From here, just continue to update your icon every time you unlock a new XP boost tier.
TL;DR: (Icon progression recommendations)

World Tour To unlock all Key Sounds from world tour, you will need to complete a total of 44 out of the 45 challenges, with the only challenge not required being "Aftermath". You will most likely find the majority of these challenges to be fairly trivial, as they can be easily completed using a high break shield. There are, however, some fairly difficult challenges towards the end that may require a lot of practice, so i would recommend putting those 1000 plays to good use.
Below is a list of each challenge that you will need to complete, as well as what is required for the completion. For the difficulty challenges, i will give some tips to hopefully help you pass them.
Keep in mind that when doing challenges with multiple songs, you can restart individual songs if you mess up. This makes may of these challenges a lot easier than they may seem at first glance.

If you were anything like me and didn't look at a guide whilst trying to battle your way through 6 Eleven hoping that this was as hard as the game got as far as achievements were concerned, its not... Upon completing all 42 challenges in the first 14 Clubs, you will unlock the final Club... and it aint pretty...

Tips: As i mentioned earlier, you will likely find the majority of these challenges fairly trivial with the use of a high break shield (sacrifice XP for one of the icons with large break shield if necessary). There are a few in the list however that are fairly difficult, and others that are VERY difficult. Below are some tips for the difficult/very difficult challenges, as well as some score references to use when attempting them. When i give references, the scores i use will be the scores are the end of each song (before bonuses, simply pause the game before the song ends and look at score)
For the harder challenges, i would highly recommend that you change the difficulty to easy/normal, as even with a large shield break, it is still very easy to start breaking your combo in some of the harder songs in the challenges.
Barbarian's (Club 13) - Challenging This challenge can be a little tricky because of the flicker. I don't really have much to say about this other than recommending that you play the song a few times in free play without flicker first. And just remember, it could be worse, it could have been Flicker 2...
Fake Face (Club 14) - Challenging The difficulty of this challenge will most likely depend on your level since this will determine the best break shield icon that you can use. Don't be fooled by the first two songs only being 4TRAX, as they are custom charts that have been made much harder than the originals. These however most likely wont be the thing that will stop you from completing this challenge. That would be the custom 6TRAX chart for Kitty From Hell. If you are unable to complete this challenge at a low level, simply wait until you have levelled up more to unlock better icons. The best break shield you can get is 60, which is unlocked at level 96.
Eguchi WAVE (Club 14) - Challenging This chart is incredibly difficult, but with a high break shield to convert your breaks into goods, it is very manageable. This chart is the only song in the game to require you to hit multiple green/blue notes on the same side at the same time. This may take some getting used too, but its more than doable.
As you can see in the video, i technically "Break" 52 times. Add that to my already questionable accuracy and you can see how manageable 90% actually is. Not easy by any means, but certainly not too difficult once you are used to the game.
6 Eleven (Club 13) - Hard This is where the game really starts to pick up difficulty. Not only does this challenge require 95% accuracy, but it is also a selection of essentially the hardest songs in the game on 6TRAX. Practice these in free play until you are fairly comfortable at getting 94+% and then take it to the challenge and keep resetting each song until you hit the references shown below. These references are not the exact 95% score cutoffs, they are simply what i got when i hit 95% on each song (and remember, these scores are BEFORE bonuses are applied).
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***95% Song references: Voodoo Gooroo - 72,000 (95%) Matador - 70,250 (95%) March of Fear - 55,900 (95%) Stargazer - 67,600 (95%) Dimension Detonator - 72,000 (96%)
95% Run Reference: Voodoo Gooroo - 72,400 MATADOR - 143,250 (70,850) March of Fear - 199,350 (56,100) STARGAZER - 266,750 (67,400) Dimension Detonator - 339,750 (73,000)
Because this is a multi-song challenge, the 95% required is the accuracy of all notes in all songs combined. Because of this, you can get away with doing slightly worse than 95% on certain songs if you are able to achieve a higher score on another song.
For me, the hardest song was March of Fear due to the stick notes towards the mid-end of the song. I found it easier to hit 95% accuracy by purposefully missing certain hard notes and focusing on the easier notes in the section to prevent my accuracy on the easy notes being compromised when trying to hit the hard ones at the same time.
I used a similar technique on MATADOR also on the section just before the fast stream early on in the song when you have to hit a single - chord - single etc.. I simply ignored the single notes when the chord changed from the double bottom greens.
Crazy Max (Club 15) - Very Hard So, you have made it to Club 15... Thankfully, the first challenge here only requires 90%... Not so thankfully however, is that it is a collection of some deadly difficulty 12 songs on 6TRAX FX.
There is a glimmer of hope in the form of "Bang Bang Groove" however, which is a 6TRAX EXTRA chart that consists of only chord notes, making it relatively easy to score high on, allowing for the other charts (*Cough* Voodoo Gooroo *cough*) to have a lower score. The down side of this is that it makes practising this particular chart slightly more annoying which is why i'm including a video of the chart below.
As with 6 Eleven, i have some references that you can use whilst attempting this challenge.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***89% Run Reference: ANTIKTHERA - 75,250 Bang Bang Groove - 168,350 (93,100) Voodoo Gooroo - 245,950 (77,600) Dimension Detonator - 321,000 (75,050) STARGAZER - 395,500 (74,500)
91% (A Rank) Run Reference: ANTIKTHERA - 77,100 Bang Bang Groove - 170,900 (93,800) Voodoo Gooroo - 249,600 (78,700) Dimension Detonator - 325,550 (75,950) STARGAZER - 401,200 (75,650)
91% (S Rank) Run Reference: ANTIKTHERA - 78,550 Bang Bang Groove - 172,050 (93,500) Voodoo Gooroo - 252,400 (80,350) Dimension Detonator - 326,700 (74,300) STARGAZER - 402,800 (76,100)
XONiC Master (Club 15) - Very Hard This challenge is arguably the easiest challenge in Club 15, and i say arguably because i personally found the song "5.1.5.0" to be one of the hardest in all of the challenges. Thankfully, the challenge is only 3 songs long, and the first two songs are very easy to score above 95% on.
The first song in the challenge is rather unique in that it only features stick notes and bumper notes. The majority of the song is very easy, but there is a fairly tricky recurring section that consists of alternating bumpers and sticks at the same time which can very easily ruin a run. The fact that this is the first song in the challenge makes it very easy to practice despite being a special chart.
I don't really feel the need to say much about the second song. It is simply a slightly harder 6TRAX version of the song and feels very nice to play. One thing i will say (and this counts for the first song also) is that you should keep restarting the song until you are very happy with the run. This will make your life a lot easier when it comes to the final song.
So, if all went well on the first two songs, you should hopefully only need to score around 91-93% on this last song, which is a good thing, because it sure as hell aint as easy as the other two...
Similar to the advice i have for 6 Eleven, it may be helpful to intentionally skip hard notes to improve accuracy on others.
Finally, some juicy reference scores for you to use while attempting this.
