"Inconceivable takes a more Survival based twist, giving you less health than Insane difficulty but also less health to your enemies. That’s because surviving on Inconceivable is all about effectiveness - weapons and crates drop significantly less ammunition, so you’ll have to make every shot count with whatever pickups you can find on the battlefield.
Unlock Inconceivable Difficulty for Campaign by beating the Campaign on Insane."
There's two ways to go about this
Method 1: Simply playing it legit. This would be extremely difficult and a challenge id imagine only few would attempt and have the patience to complete.
Method 2: The same casual coop method can be used here as well. When playing coop one person can choose their difficulty as casual and the other person can play on Inconceivable. This way the person on casual can go do all the work while the other person sits back and stays safe. Doing this will of course mean you have to run through the campaign another time where you switch roles with your partner so you can both get the achievement but you'll end up spending less time then doing it on Inconceivable only.
Helpful Tip: Have the Host choose casual, and the second player choose Inconceivable when the game loads up. (This is just a helpful tip for one part of the motorcycle section in Act II. More info below)
Note: Can be done in split screen
Whichever way you choose i will do my best to provide help to make things easier. If using the coop method then you shouldn't have too much trouble but this may help you on some of the difficult parts.
TipsGeneral:-Since you would've had to have done Insane already it goes without saying that you should know how to take it slow and take care of all the enemies before moving on
-Since ammo is scarce you'll probably have to be picking up weapons constantly however if you run out of ammo you can trade it to one of your AI teammates and they will reload the clip.
Prologue:-You can grab the Despicable You Freeze gun. it only has 12 ammo but may help (cant be done with coop method)
-In coop when you get to the part where there is a cutscene of a mortar coming at you we had the issue where it would kill the person on Inconceivable without giving them the chance to move. However, The checkpoint reloads and you'll already be dead but luckily the ai takes over your character and your partner can complete the section.
Act II:- In Chapter 2 Dom's Toms grenades can be earned by shooting all plant pots in the greenhouse.
-In coop its best to have the host be the one to choose casual and the other person change their difficulty to Inconceivable. This is helpful only for the motorcycle section. When the helicopter is shooting at you he mainly focuses on the one upfront which is always the host. We found that Its much easier to dodge the bullets and missiles if in the back because when you're up front on Inconceivable the helicopter bullets and missiles are much harder to dodge.
-However, if you already have the host being the one on Inconceivable we found the best way to get past it was have the person in back who is on casual stay on the right the whole time not moving much unless they have to, then the host on Inconceivable stay on the left and middle dodging everything. By having the casual player not really move a lot it seemed to take some of the helicopters attention away from the player up front.

*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***- Keep shooting at the Vulture's engines as it's coming towards you and as it's going away, being mindful of the incendiaries that it will start to drop as it pulls away (these start to drop earlier and earlier the longer you go). It took several clips in each engine for me to get to the part where you shoot the Vulture's guns. I just alternated which engine I shot. No idea if it matters.
- You can shoot the incendiaries before they hit the ground, but I found that I did better when I focused on dodging the potholes instead of shooting the incendiaries before they hit the ground.
- I got a lot better at watching ahead of where I was to see what pattern of incendiaries was being dropped: single (right/left/middle) or double (right/middle, right/left, or middle/left). If you can see these falling from the Vulture ahead of you, it becomes easier. Sometimes you can't because of all the debris on the screen. I believe it's easier when the AI driver is ahead of you (more time to react), but I believe the lead driver alternates each time the Vulture comes close and then pulls away.
- I believe you can survive 1 direct hit on a pothole. 2 successive ones appear to kill you. You can go between 2 potholes that are positioned left and right. But if you try to go between 2 potholes that are next to each other (left/middle or middle/right), chances are you will die. I'm assuming this is because the pothole damage areas overlap. I died many times when trying to go between these even with full health. You are better off going directly over one of them (rather than between them) if you have no choice.
- Make sure you hit reload as soon as the engines are destroyed before the cut-scene starts. Your gun will reload during the cut-scene. Multiple times the Vulture's guns killed me because I was in the middle of a reload or I had a bad reload. A full clip pretty much guaranteed that I could kill 1 or 2 guns and then have a "safe" area to ride since the Vulture's guns only shoot straight.
- As soon as you shoot the guns on the right side, watch out for the Vulture. I got run over by it (or something else; maybe the camera truck?) multiple times (see 0:48 in the video below). To avoid this, as soon as I shot the guns on the right (Del usually says "Hit its engines!" or "Whoa! Got 'em!"), I moved right as far as I could (see 3:54 in the video below).
- If you don't destroy the inside of the Vulture on the first try, you will move under the left wing. Make sure to dodge the ruts in the road that the Vulture's rotors cut. These don't seem to be as damaging as the incendiary potholes, but I think a few will kill you. Watch the Vulture's rotors as they cut across the road and time your moves accordingly to dodge.
Here's my video where I did it solo after about a hundred failures (skip to 2:09 for the final successful run; difficulty and solo check at 3:25):
Sorry, this Game Clip has been removed
Good luck!
Act III:-In Chapter 2 you can get the Memento Mori:
Shoot the Gravestones marked MA, R, I, A.
"You can play until you get to the graveyard. Exit the game then when you load in have the second player choose Insane. All you need to do is throw a Grenade, shoot Ma, then take cover behind the long rock to the left. From here shoot r,i,a causing all enemies to despawn. I didn't fire a single shot at the enemies and I did it with 2 controllers."
Thanks to HolyHalfDead for the info. Note: Kexol says you should make sure you shoot them with your main account and not the guest.
*** Spoiler - click to reveal ***Credit to HolyHalfDead from his insane guide and SASxSH4DOWZ for the video this gun one hit kills everything but you cant get more ammo. You also one hit melee everything while you have it out so keep that in mind and conserve the 18 bullets for tough bosses you cant melee.
-When you enter the circular room a pouncer will appear. after taking it out juvies will drop down. they all drop from the same spot so make sure the inconceivable player is on the opposite side of the room to give you space. Once you or your coop partner clear them out go to the other side as the next set of juvies will drop down from there. Lastly another pouncer will spawn that you'll have to deal with.
-In coop, After the "horde" type defend section you'll have to run uphill past enemies to press a button. only one person needs to do it so have the person on casual run to press it while you stay back.
Act IV:-On the Swarmack boss fight have the person on inconceivable go up to the stairs where the buttons are and stay at the end behind cover. This will make it easier to kill the juvies coming up to attack you while protecting you from the Swarmack shots while the person on casual does everything.
Act V: -For the final boss fight you have to learn the right timing to be able to dodge the shots. In coop, have one person all the way on the left and the other on the right. That way you only have to dodge one of the tentacle shots and not both as only one goes for each player by doing this.
These are what we found to be the most difficult sections of the game and some tips to get through them all, though you probably could've managed on your own as you can die as much as you want here. If you have any other tips to add or questions in general just leave a comment so i can update the solution.
Good Luck.
