So unfortunately, this game doesn't have a code that lets you skip to the end so you'll have to play through the whole game. Also, where as Legacy Collection 1 has Save States, this game only has save checkpoints. So when you die (or are about to die) as long as you load your last checkpoint before you respawn, you can continue from your last checkpoint without losing a life. Also, to make things easier, from the games main menu, go to options and set Extra Armor mode to On which will make you take less damage.

There are a total of 40 bolts in the game and here is a guide put together by Video Chums ( that I used to find all the bolts.

Some of the items in the store are only available after completing the mid-game mini stage after defeating the first four bosses. The items I recommend purchasing from Roll with your bolts are:
Energy Saver* (6 Bolts)- reduces the cost of firing special weapons
H. Speed Charge* (7 Bolts)- reduces charge shot charge time
Laser Shot (5 Bolts) [make sure to equip it from the pause menu once purchased]- changes charge shot to pierce through shields and multiple enemies, can also damage certain enemies multiple times per shot
Shooting Part (6 Bolts)- allows you to have 5 Mega Buster shots on screen at a time instead of only 3
Super Recover* (5 Bolts)- increases the amount of health or ammo regained from health/ammo drops
*Indicates this part can only be purchased after completing the mid-game level.

The recommended boss order and their corresponding weaknesses:
Tengu Man*- Ice Wave
Clown Man- Tornado Hold
Grenade Man- Thunder Claw
Frost Man- Flash Bomb
Aqua Man*- Astro Crush
Sword Man- Water Balloon
Search Man- Flame Sword
Astro Man- Homing Sniper
* You will not have the weapon that is this boss' weakness the 1st time you fight them but they are pretty easy with just the Mega Buster.

Wily Fortress:
Atetemino - This boss is annoying because he is always at the top of the screen and out of reach of most of your attacks. The best way to fight him is with the Mega Ball and bouncing it off the walls to hit him. The tricky part is getting the angle right to hit him. I found that hitting him while he is in the center 2 slots easiest and more difficult to get the angle right when he appears in either of the outside 2 slots. According to the Megaman wiki ( for Megaman 8, here is where to aim the Mega Ball.
Atetemino appears in slot 1: Kick the Mega Ball under slot 3.
Atetemino appears in slot 2: Kick the Mega Ball under slot 4.
Atetemino appears in slot 3: Kick the Mega Ball under slot 1.
Atetemino appears in slot 4: Kick the Mega Ball under slot 2.

Bliking- This boss was pretty easy, I got hit lots of times and still had about 1/2 health at the end. I just used the Mega Buster and Astro Crush. This boss will only take damage when it's "wings" are extended.

Bass- Pretty simple with Mega Buster but would also recommend Flash Bomb as hitting Bass while he is stationary will cause him to take damage more than once per shot.

Green Devil- the Laser Shot upgrade or Flash Bomb make this fight a breeze.

Before making it to Wily, there is the Robot Rush. Thanks to for this screenshot of which boss is in which capsule:

Wily 1st form: When you see the mouth laser canon charging make sure to shoot it with the Mega Buster or a charged shot to stop it. Use Flash Bomb or Astro Crush on Wily to cause damage.

Wily 2nd form: Use charge shot, Flame Sword, or Astro Crush to damage Wily when he appears. Since this game doesn't have any E-tanks, if you get low on health use the Rush Health ability (the 4th Rush ability on the pause screen, looks like a white container). This was the only fight in the game I had to use this ability and I'm far from a Megaman expert.
