To do this you're going to pretty much have to be perfect in the Longshot finale because you're going to need the performance boosts. I got this with an A in Performance. I honestly can't think of a single pass I didn't make or a game I didn't win. (NoHeroes94 noted that he got an A- and still got this. So there clearly a little leeway. But you don't want to have to replay the whole story. I recommend restarting a scene if you miss something.)
DO NOT FREAK OUT. This does not pop for quite some time, until after Julia meets Devin to follow up for Longshot.
There are a total of five challenges. If you fail one, you can move on... but you can't get this achievement. If you fail, you can quit to the menu. However, there are no checkpoints in the finale. If you quit out, you're going to have to go back to the first challenge... before the 2 minute cutscene.
Each of these is a drive down the field. All of your receivers are solid. You just have to get it there. You don't get to call the plays until the 5th challenge, and you can't ever audible. The clock runs if you go down in bounds, so you're going to need quick yardage the entire time.
Motivation: You don't want to watch that 2 minute cutscene again.
One tip: After the 4th challenge is a decision that counts for an achievement. Whether you are failing or not, you're going to want to get to that point, so don't quit out until you've gotten to that point and chosen COLT (
). Then you have to aim the ball.
Challenge #1: 4 minutes, 80-yard drive, score a TD or run out the clock.
Reality: You have to get a TD here. Your IQ and Performance don't go up if you run out the clock. The first play is always a run; one time I got lucky and Forsett ran all the way for a TD. That'll never happen again. Play calling can be annoying, because running plays eat up your clock. Be smart and heave the ball when you can.
Challenge #2: 2 minutes, 80-yard drive, must score a TD.
Reality: No frills, just heave it. Play calling is pass-heavy. You'll get a Performance and Grade boost for this.
In the middle of Challenge #2, you will have a QTE. Press
, then move
over to the nearest receiver and mash
. You will earn a boost to Performance and IQ.
Challenge #3: 3 minutes, get to the 35, start at your 1-yard line.
Reality: The hardest part is the beginning. Get out of the end zone. 15 seconds run off if the ball is in bounds, so a little more forgiving but get that ball downfield. You get a Performance and Grade boost.
Challenge #4: 1 minute, start at your 40, score a TD. Do not throw to Colt.
Reality: Your other receivers are great if you hit them. Look for Johnson especially. The clock runs 10 seconds between plays, so you have NO time for throwing short passes. You can run if you have daylight to go deep. Your choice on what to do with Colt. Winning gives you a Performance and 2 Grade boosts.
Decision: Throw to Colt or Forsett.
Reality: Forsett is the right call. He gives you an IQ and and Grade boost.
HOWEVER: throwing to Colt is required for a separate achievement that you've needed to work toward all game. I suggest you pick Colt, then restart. Yeah. It hurts. Deciding to stay with your decision knocks down your IQ and Grade, so you're going to want to repeat it anyway.
Challenge #5: 1:30. Ball on the 35. You must score.
Reality: You don't have as much time as you think. Throw downfield. The AI seems to pick you off more often at this point. If you don't score, the game makes you play it again, but no achievement. Three times I got down here and ran out of time. Don't be me.
Best of luck!
