How to unlock the The root of all evil achievement

    This can be a bit confusing, because there are both tapes and radios in the game. The tapes do not count for this achievement. The radios are what have the interviews. There's four in total:

    1. The hall with the janitor has a flight of steps, on the third floor, dangling from wires.
    2. The bathroom connected to room 110. Flush the toilet for it to appear.
    3. The room marked 020, in the basement.

    Note that you need to actually interact with them for the achievement, finding them isn't enough. This video will help as a visual guide.

    EDIT: There have been comments about the last radio not spawning. I would recommend reading below if anyone is having this issue. Multiple people have noted that reloading the game may help.

    Crims0nScorpionIs there anything that would cause the last recording to not spawn? It wasn't there when I went through the Chiron area...I have to play the game again for the cards because I missed a few but I'd hate to do a 2nd playthrough and not have it spawn again

    NicoleRenee00@Crims0nScorpion, I haven't run into the issue of it not spawning. Sorry! Did the radio not play? Or was it completely absent from the table?

    Crims0nScorpionit was completely absent from the table, I did see on the Steam walkthrough it may not spawn if you don't get the other 3 so I'm thinking I had to revert to a previous save from a game crash and it didn't count one of the radios but I'm not sure, I have to do another playthrough because I missed Pandemic by 2 cards as well and going through a 2nd time only for collectibles and no side quests makes it a lot faster so we'll see, I did quit the game inside the Chiron facility as well so I may do the VR pod and finish the game in the same sitting to be sure but we'll see once we get there

    NicoleRenee00I have yet to hear about that, but if you do require the other recordings to get the last one, I'll update the solution with the information. Hope it works out on your second playthrough!

    Crims0nScorpionSo I was able to get it to spawn on my 2nd playthrough. I made sure after I got each Radio I listened to it twice and was extremely careful not to close my game or have it crash until it saved. I then did not turn my game off or have it crash after I got out of the VR Pod and proceeded through the Chiron facility. I'm not sure if this has any impact on it but if anyone else has the issue where the final radio just isn't spawning, try to make sure throughout your whole playthrough you make sure you listen to each radio and if it crashes or you close out before you're 100% sure it autosaved go back and get the radios again. Also make sure that once you leave the VR Pod and enter the Chiron facility you do it in one sitting at least until you get the final radio. Again I'm not 100% sure this is what needs to be done but I know my 1st playthrough the radio didn't spawn, and on my 2nd playthrough I was extremely careful and it spawned and I got the collectible.

    KAW 24@Crims0nScorpion, FWIW I had the same problem with the final radio not spawning on the table. I had previously quit the game at a checkpoint just before I got to the table. When I restarted and went around the next corner to see the table, the radio wasn't there. I tried reloading the checkpoint again and vaguely remembered there were some ambient noises (screams, etc.) when I'd previously quit the game whereas it was completely silent when I restarted from the checkpoint. I tried backtracking to the previous area but the way back was blocked; however, as I approached the blocked wall the ambient noises started again and when I went back to the table the radio was there.

    IcefiretnI want to add to what KAW 24 noted in case it helps anyone else. The radio didn’t spawn for me at first either even tho I know I listened to the other 3 recordings. I tried exiting to menu and continuing, closing the game and continuing, but neither method seemed to spawn it. Tried one more time - this time I walked down the hall slowly till I heard the ambient noises as KAW mentioned. Turned around and went back to where you come in from, in case that helped. Went back to the table slowly and the radio was there.

    In short - no idea what ended up getting it to spawn that last time. But if you are sure you listened to the other recordings, it is worth quitting and resuming and trying a few options before giving up.
