This achievement is only obtainable in Minecraft version 1.2.3 or later (stable and released to the public on October 18, 2017). If your game is not running the current version, you'll be prompted to update your game to newest version.

If you have played Minecraft: Xbox One Edition (Console Edition), read below on how to sync your old worlds over to this new version.
    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

Lets assume you are an awesome archer and your accuracy with a bow is 100%, you'll need the following:

A world that is at minimum set to Easy difficulty (Normal or Hard also works).
    1 Bow.
    Some Arrows (5-10 at minimum).

Now to find a Skeleton, which can spawn almost anywhere in the Overworld at a light level of 7 or less (i.e. usually at night and away from any light source).

    The distance...
    1 meter = 1 block (length/width/height)
So... you need to be at least 50 blocks or more away when the killing blow is made to the Skeleton. Achievement unlocked!

Be warned, Skeletons (and Strays) are hostile mobs. They will attack (with their arrows) if you get close to them! Skeletons can drop 0-2 Arrows when killed.

Note: Usually hostile mobs will burn and be killed off when the sun rises, however, any hostile mob can survive daylight if it touches water.
Note: Strays might count as well, but I haven't tested this. 80% of Skeletons spawned directly under the sky in ice/snowy biomes will be Strays.

But what if you were starting a new world and you don't have the items pre-made listed above? Here is what you need:

    Flint (5-10 at minimum)
    Feathers (5-10 at minimum)
    3 Strings
5 Wood (tree trunks of any kind)

First, find a tree (yes, a tree) and punch it (mine it with your bare hand; cn_RT) to get a piece of Oak Wood. Or better, use any type of Axe if possible.
Repeat this process again with another piece of Oak Wood.
Press cn_X to open the Crafting menu. Highlight "Oak Wood Planks" (or whatever type of planks for the type of Wood you have) and press cn_Y to make 20 Oak Wood Planks using the 2 Oak Wood we obtained earlier.
Now highlight "Crafting Table" and press cn_A to craft one. This will use 4 of the Oak Wood Planks we made earlier.
Now highlight "Stick" and press cn_Y to craft 32 Sticks. This will use the remaining 16 pieces of Oak Wood Planks.
    Press cn_B to exit.

Here is the tricky part. Gathering the remaining stuff needed for the Bow and Arrows.

To gather Flint, find a block of Gravel and mine it. When a block of Gravel is mined, there is a 10% chance that a single piece of flint will drop instead of the gravel block.
Mine the Gravel block with a Fortune-enchanted tool to increase the drop rate % (up to 100% with Fortune III).
Never use a Silk Touch-enchanted tool to mine Gravel if you are attempting to gather Flint!
Gravel blocks can be mined without a tool (empty hand) if needed.

From here on, you might want a Wooden Sword (or better) for killing mobs.

Gather Strings by killing Spiders or Cave Spiders. You can also destroy Cobwebs with a Sword (or Shears) to obtain Strings.

Note: Spiders and Cave Spiders will not spawn in a world loaded on Peaceful difficulty.

One you have 3 pieces of String...
Look at the ground and place your Crafting Table down.
Press cn_LT to open the Crafting Table.
Now highlight "Bow" and press cn_A to craft.
    Press cn_B to exit.
You might want to consider breaking the Crafting Table (mine with cn_RT) so that you can take it with you. We will be using it again later.

Find and kill a chicken (or is it a duck?). It will drop 0–2 feathers.
Find and ill a parrot. It will drop 1–2 feathers.

One you have 1 Flint, 1 Stick, and 1 Feather (or more of each)...
To make a stack of 64 Arrows, you'll need 64 Flint, 64 Sticks, and 64 Feathers, but 5-10 of each should be enough if you have good accuracy.

Look at the ground and place your Crafting Table down.
Press cn_LT to open the Crafting Table.
Now highlight "Arrow" and press cn_Y to craft using all materials you have.
    Press cn_B to exit.

UnhandledErrorsrannagan is correct. I ended up having to nametag a skeleton so it would not despawn when getting to the required range. Xbox One Minecraft.

You need to shoot and kill a skeleton from 50+ blocks away. I was having trouble with this while doing it on ground level and found it easiest to find a skeleton on the ground and pillar your way up. This makes it easy to know when you're 50 blocks away because you just use a stack of 50 blocks and then shoot down at them.

If you're having difficulty getting this achievement with normal skeletons, you can get it with wither skeletons. If you can find a nether fortress with a lot of bridges it will be very easy to snipe them from more than 50 blocks away. You can even snipe them from outside of the fortress if you want to avoid blazes etc. depending on the environment.
