A Champion Star is the reward for having a driver reach Level 50 in Public Multiplayer.

To do this you will need to take part in Public Multiplayer races, and earn XP after each one.

You earn XP for doing various things, such as:

> Finishing a race.
> Finishing in the top half of the field.
> Winning a race.
> Finishing on the Podium.
> Having a penalty-free race.

You can also earn XP for completing various Milestones, such as:

> Reaching a certain number of races completed.
> Reaching a certain number of races won.
> Reaching a certain number of kilometers driven.

XP cannot be earned in the Online Championships or Custom Game portions of Multiplayer, which means there are no ways to shortcut this Achievement. You'll just have to grind it out and if you're fast/lucky enough you'll get more XP on average per race as the skill gaps between players seems quite high so far.

You can let the AI drive for you by pausing during a race, but your XP earnings will be drastically reduced.

If you Retire from a race your XP earnings will be drastically reduced.

Depending on your performance these are the approximate amounts of XP you can expect to get per event type:

> 5000 XP for a 5 Lap Race
> 12,000 XP for a 25% Race
> 25,000 XP for a 50% Race
> 1500 XP for Qualifying

During my time in Public Multiplayer these were my typical XP earning rates:

> 16000 XP per hour with only 5 Lap Races
> 25000 XP per hour with only 25% Races
> 40000 XP per hour with only 50% Races

The amount of XP required per Rank increases with each successive Rank, to the point where you will need around 33,500 XP to go from Rank 49 to Rank 50. I have not been tracking XP totals from the beginning but if I were to take a guess I'd day you would need around 1,100,000 XP to go from Rank 1 to Rank 50. I would advise you to not look at the big number and quite literally take it 1 Rank at a time.

Some other notes:

> Very few people do 50% races. Most of my races only had 2-3 people in them. This gives you a gauaranteed podium finish and if you avoid damage and penalties you could earn up to 35000 XP per race.
> 25% races typically have 5-10 people in them. They are a little riskier than 50% races but if you crash and retire you won't lose 40 minutes of XP earnings.
> You get the same amount of XP for running a short variation of a circuit as you do a long one, so if you're trying to optimise your time vote for short circuits wherever you can.
> Assists make no difference to the amount of XP you earn.

Along the way you will also unlock the following:

F1 2017Competitive StreakThe Competitive Streak achievement in F1 2017 worth 46 pointsObtain a rank of 25 Online

F1 2017Welcome to the real worldThe Welcome to the real world achievement in F1 2017 worth 31 pointsObtain a rank of 10 Online

Good luck, you're going to need it as this Achievement requires over 50 hours of high quality driving against random online opponents.

Hello guys

As mentioned by guys above doing 5 lap races is your best bet.

Tips and hints for those who are new to F1 games or racing games in general:

Use Assists

Braking Assist: Off
Anti-Lock Brakes: On
Traction Control: Medium
Dynamic Racing Line: Corners Only
Gearbox: Manual and Suggested Gear

You may struggle at first but with enough practice, you should be able to get to grips with these assists very quickly and become very competitive.

Get some setups from Time Trials

Pretty straightforward... just jump into Time Trial mode with any car and try out some setups that you think would be decent (you can even try mine by adding me as a friend). Once you find the ones you like Save them with appropriate name that you could recognize when you want to Load it in Race or One-Shot Qualifying.

Play at odd hours

This may not suit to everyone... but I found out that If you play from around 23:00-7:00 (GMT 0) you're more than likely will be finishing in high positions like Top 5 or even podium and ranking up lots of XP and ticking off milestones very quickly... because of absence of most players who will be sleeping/working.

Optional: Vote for Classic Car tracks (C1 or C2)

This could prove quite hard at first as the overall grip for Classic Cars is much worse than 2017 cars, but with enough practice you could prove to be very competitive and also lots and I mean LOTS of players hate driving with Classic Cars so you there's always about 90% chance most of the people in your lobby will crash, spin or have issues of sort.

C1 Fastest Car: 2004 Ferrari F2004
C2 Fastest Car: 1998 McLaren MP4-13 (horrible handling)
C2 Best Car: 1992 Williams FW14B

NOTE: Traction Control on Full is a MUST for C1 car if you are not used to handling of those beasts. F2004 is pretty much given the fastest car in this game (without upgrades), so take this car every time you're in C1 race to give yourself the best chance at a good finish.

MP4-13 is fast but also very hard to handle especially on tight circuits like Monaco or Hungary
FW14B on the other although is slower than MP4-13 but it handles very nicely... so if you don't wish to risk it and struggle with MP4-13, I think FW14B is your best bet as C2 car choice.
