There really is no easy way to go this. Just like previous years, this is an absolute grind which will take many hours to finish. The further you get into the Domination mode, the more difficult the goals get.

It may be worthwhile to build up your team prior to starting Domination, but at the same time you can really earn a lot of MT Points by doing this mode. It's your call, really.

The problem is this mode is so incredibly dependent on you buying VC and getting lucky draws from RNG packs (you can't buy MT Points... more on that later on). It's up to you if you're willing to spend money on it, as everyone has different financial situations. I will say though, that the packs are utterly nonsensical with the luck required to get a decent drawed player from them.

Basically, I recommend working on the weekly challenges and playing the schedule change mode, as those will give you crucial pieces towards improving your team.

You really want to build your team success based around your play style. This will make things much easier for you. I highly recommend building your play style around the same position/style as your MyCareer player, so you can get in sync more and learn about how to play better with that play style.

If you're a playmaker, go with a Kyrie Irving card, if you're a shooter go with Klay Thompson and Steph Curry (more common rarities are fine, too, and will greatly help you), and if you're a post player, go with Zach Randolph and DeMarcus Cousins.

We need to talk about MT Points though: DO. NOT. SPEND. THEM. ON. PACKS.. You cannot purchase MT Points with anything and you cannot exchange VC for them, making them very valuable. Only use VC for purchasing packs, if you really must. I highly recommend saving up until you unlock the Auction House and cherry picking a few mid-range players (see above) from there. Be very wary about wasting your MT Points, as they're a precious commodity which can only be gained from grinding MT. The average Domination match pays anywhere from 500 on the low end to 900 on the upper end per match.

On the subject of the Auction House: don't fall for stupidly overpriced cards for famous/popular players. People tend to markup prices for popular players in rare types like LeBron James, Steph Curry & Vince Carter. If you really must have one of these popular players in rare forms (I do not recommend it at all), do your due diligence and wait for a deal as there are quite frequently newbies who auction rare cards off for dirt cheap because they don't know the value of them. When possible, substitute popular players out for less-appreciated and historical cards. Often times, the popular players are not as efficient for the average person to use when faced against someone who knows how to utilize a less popular player such as Nene or Zach Randolph.

Oh, and one last thing while I'm at it: it may be tempting to purchase MT points via some sketchy site for dirt cheap... if you manage not to get scammed, they'll catch you... don't do it. 2K actively monitors for this situation and will put the kibosh on this very quickly if they catch you (and they will), likely disabling your online privileges.

Here's to a fun NBA 2K18. Good luck with MyTeam, everyone!

This achievement requires you to get 297 stars in domination mode. Domination mode this year is divided into 3 sections: Current, Historic, and All-Time. Each section consists of playing all 30 NBA teams as well as an eastern conference all-star, western conference all-star and a league-wide all-star team, for a total of 33 games in each section and 99 games overall. I just wanted to give a few tips and pointers since I just recently completed this. For one thing, don't be too intimidated by All-Time domination. Yes, the teams consist of very good players, but to offset the difficulty you are given a 1.5x multiplier, as opposed to a 1.25x multiplier in Historic domination. This makes it much easier to reach the mt requirement for each match. Also, to reach the mt requirement even easier, make sure to shoot at least 10 free throws and 5 3-pointers per game. With a 1.5x multiplier that's an extra 150 mt if you go 10/10 on free throws!

Now for some basic tips on how to play against the AI in this game. The basic strategy on offense is to try to drive to the basket for a dunk, or if you don't think you can score on the drive to try to kick it out to a shooter on the 3-point line. Basically if you're not shooting an open 3 or getting an easy dunk/ layup, you're gonna have a bad time. It's just how nba 2k18 works this year. Trying to shoot from the post or take contested shots usually ends in failure. Some strategies to make your life easier while trying to accomplish this are to set your offense to 5-out. This can be done when you have the ball on offense and you press left on the d-pad and then press right trigger until you see the option for 5-out. This will spread all your teammates except your center out to the 3-point line. To make the best use of this, you would then call for a pick and roll with your center, this will force the other teams center out of the paint and hopefully allow you to blast past him for an easy layup or dunk. If the center doesn't come out of the paint enough, there's always a chance that the wing defender on the side you ran towards would leave his man open on the 3-point line and you can kick it out to him as well. This is literally all I did on offense in every domination game.

This leads to my suggestions for playing defense against the AI. I always ran the "No Threes" defense against pretty much every team, and if you go to defensive settings make sure to choose to play the opponent tight so you don't give them any space to shoot. I usually played as the point guard when the opponent comes down the court with their point guard, and try to reach in and steal the ball a couple times, leading to an easy score if you get the steal. Never reach more than twice in a row or it's basically an automatic reach in foul. Then if that doesn't work I usually switched to my center so that I could protect the rim and boxout my opponent better, because for some reason the AI is terrible at defending in the paint and getting rebounds. It doesn't hurt to set your team to "Run in Transition" as well to try and get some easy fast break points, but this year it's pretty hard to make a long pass unless your guy has a "fast break starter" badge, so be careful.

Really the best thing you can do is to just learn your players strengths and weaknesses. I personally focused on guards and small forwards who are athletic and can dunk on people well, and big men who can defend and rebound well. My best scorers were guys like kobe and harden and i kept kareem and demarcus to defend the rim. Also always try to have a good wind defender like ron artest to defend against the other teams best player, like michael jordan or tracy mcgrady. A great wind defender can make a huge difference in shutting down the other team. Anyways, if I left anything out or you have any questions, let me know in the comments!
