How to unlock the Moonlighting achievement

In Freeplay select Daytona Intl Speedway/Oval and select Night from the options. Decide how many laps you want to do at a time and start. Not many tracks allow Night setting, but this does and is an easy one.

Turn on the on-screen achievement tracker and you will see it ticking up as you complete each lap.

Only did 10 lap race, but all the laps counted, and will finish it tomorrow.

EDIT: further 2 x 20 lap races popped the achievement! Using the Nissan GT-R Black Forza Edition car makes it very fast (205mph max) and gives a good boost and you don't need to touch the brakes.

Brian Beer GodGood guide, just a note: I used the Audi #2 Audi Sport Team Joest R15++ TDI (I had it in my garage). You can get up to around 215 with no tune and you don't need to brake.

Lombobeven easier method if you setup the race then change the driver assist to super easy all you have to do is hold down the right trigger and the car will follow the track for you

EDIT: FriskiNiski below has noted this may have been patched. I will wait for others to confirm as well.

EDIT 2: erichsouza76 has a note about how this solution still worked. Worth while reading it in case it helps you.

New easier way: In a night race, pass the finish line and rewind back and pass it again, over and over.

    Like InfiniteLogic's solution, I recommend:
    - freeplay
    - Daytona Intl Speedway/Oval
    - Night (needed)
    - turn on the on-screen achievement tracker to see it unlock each "lap"

    I also recommend:
    - 2 laps (so the race doesn't end after the 1st lap so you can rewind)
    - a modern day indy car (230+ mph without the need for brakes), but the actual car only helps for the 1st lap so any car will do

erichsouza76Right, just a small heads up here:
This method is still valid. I just used it and it worked as expected.
ALTHOUGH...the issue is with the Xbox itself. For some time already, some of those lap achievements aren't unlocking and/or tracking properly.
I had this achievement about 38% (19 laps) for quite some time. Then I resumed my career and did a plenty of night races and no change at all.
Them I got pissed and decided to do the freeplay to unlock it once for all. No good. Did all the remaining laps and the tracker didn't change at all.
But since this isn't the only achievement with problems, I'm tracking all of them here on TA to see if anyone unlocked it, it could be an indication to try it again.
So I decided to give it another go but trying something different instead: doing the races on my PC.
And BINGO...I managed to do it on my PC.
Not sure if this is fixed again on the console version but if the problem persists, I would suggest trying on the PC instead.
At this point, I've managed to get other 3 achievements with tracking issues as well: Rain Dancer (50 MP laps in rain), Nightvision (50 MP laps at night) and Gaining Experience (100 MP laps). And for those, my dummy account running on my Xbox, the laps weren't tracked properly for the Rain Dancer and not tracked at all for the Nightvision.
    Sorry for the long text!

Easiest way is to select the following...

    - Freeplay
    - Daytona Oval and Night
    - Choose however many laps required
    - Change Steering to Super Easy
    - Start Race and tape Right Trigger Down.

Go away do something else, Achievement will pop after 50 laps achieved

ONE CEL JUGGALOJust read this article so does this mean we will never be able to unlock these achievements?

A Gamer X360Rivals mode works, too (you won't have to commit to a specific number of laps). Pick the fastest car class you have, pick an oval track, turn on easy steering and braking assists and rubber band full throttle. Watch achievement tracker progress. Just quit when you pop the achievement. Working as of Jan 2021.
