How to unlock the I Am Legend achievement

    EDIT: With the introduction of the Race Shop, you can now just purchase mods, including legendary mods, making this achievement far easier. The mods refresh every 6 minutes so if you don't see any legendary mods just wait and they'll appear sooner or later.

    All you have to do for this achievement is equip 3 at once and finish any race on any track in any car.

    Legendary mods are obtained by purchasing Premier Mod Crates, although they are very rare, or from being a VIP, which gives you 5 to use.

    EDIT: According to Xthunderspeeder having the VIP pass no longer grants you 5 legendary mods.

    EDIT: Thanks to Spaceman001 for confirming that this also works in free play.

    Happy Dog CPHI used Lockdown, No Turning Back and Clean Racing legendary (gold) mods in a 30 second timed race in Freeplay and I got this achievement. After the short race ends, just press the quit button and once you are at the main menu, the achievement will pop for you.

    TempleOfFiveDang, i'm in the evolution series, waited around to get the 3 leg mods, equipped them and ran a race, no achievement.

    I just got 3 legendary cards by buying 4 crates of 30.000 credits!! (Master mod crates) it is not said that everyone gets them from buying these packs but I found that one of them contained 2 cards so I think they patched it!

    Go to free play, pick a car your comfortable with, pick a race track (an easy one for you I picked top gear track west), put it on 1 lap, max drivatars 0 (or 1) don’t forget to set the 3 legendary mods and start the race.

    The achievement should pop at the post-race results screen!

    I did not find this out myself, I got a hint from SuperSnackhaas! So all credits for him!

    Any tips or improvements for this achievement please let me know!

    Darth6unnerWeird - I have gotten DOZENS of crates and never got anything better than SUPER RARE - this is becoming mildly frustrating.
    I already have written off the last to first cheevo - can never seem to get into a reliable boosting session, looks like this one may have to be added that list.

    V3ntilatorI got 3 Legendary ones in 7 Master crates, so its about 50% chance of getting it. Already had one from VIP i didn't wanna use for this achievement.

    My Race Setup to get this achievement:
    - Free Race + Easy mode
    - Homestead track
    - Laps 5, but only 1-2 is needed on easy.
    - 12 AI Cars (I needed that for 1 of the legendaries

    - Legendary: Place better than 5th (Needs 12 AI players)
    - Legendary: Stay on track for the whole race (Very easy on Homestead)
    - Legendary: Rewind OFF

    - I'm saving my 5 x 100% reward Legendary for 5 proper races with a better payouts. ;)

    SirBaxter77This should be the top solution. I bought 3 Master packs for 30 K each today, got 1 legandary in the 2nd and 3 (1) in the 3rd pack. Went to Free Play and picked the Homested track. Easy one.

    But people hurry up! The crates are soon to be removed from FM7!

    Using the new store to buy mods I collected 3 legendary "double down" mods approx 10,000cr each.

    I then selected them and set up a 24 car 50 lap race at Indianapolis oval which took approx 33 mins, after the race the achievement unlocked and the mods added 330,000cr to the pay out.

    This proves the achievement description is slightly misleading as you don't need to use the "dare" mods to complete the challenges, with the "double down" mod you only need to finish.
