How to unlock the No Substitute achievement

  Actions

  • Report Solution

  Go to race setup in free play, set game type to drag and select any 1/4 mile drag track
  
  Rules:
  Max drivatars: 1 (I am not sure if you need drivatars, but i put one on just in case)
  Game type: drag
  Car division: any
  
  Car restrictions:
  Make: Porsche (so you don't need to scroll through all the other cars)
  
  Once you complete a race click restart, go to setup and select car, rince and repeat for all 29 Porsches. IT will take approximately 20-30 min to get the achievement.
  Don't worry if you don't own them all, renting them count to.
  
  Please leave a comment on how to improve my solution if you downvote it.
  
  Edit: thanks to Shadow Shifter
  There seems to be a bug that changes some settings when you restart the race. I did not experience it, so it might have come for the latest patch.
  
  Shadow Shifter also made a list of all the Porsches needed for this achievement.

  This can be done between 15 - 20 minutes
  
  single player/ free play/ setup/ race setup/
  -rules/ game type/ set to drift
  -car restrictions/ set all restrictions to any, except the last 3 and change MAKE to Porsche
  
  select car/ rent/ select the first Porsche
  
  race info/ go to race/ load the track/ setup/ test drive - as soon as you gain control of the car press start and select finish test drive, press ok.
  
  Credit for that car has now been given.
  
  setup/ race setup/ press the A button to accept settings
  setup/ select car/ rent car/ select the next Porsche down, rinse and repeat.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  If you do not go in and accept the race setup settings each time it won't give you a full list of rentals to choose from, just the ones that are in the same class as your current car.
  
  Well known but worth stating; To help keep track of your progress you can Xbox button/ achievements/ highlight "No Substitute" and press the X button to add to favorites. This now moves the achievement to the top of the achievement list for a fast progress report. You can see the progress added for each car if you bring up your achievements as soon as you finish the test drive.

  If you want to track your progress go https://xbltracker.com enter your gamertag, select Forza 7 and the achievement "No Substitute" to see which one you have and which is missing.
  
  Thanks to Shadow Shifter & sirre0812 for the guide with the car list. I can confirm, choosing drag race and renting each car worked. You only need to select "Restart" and rent a different car after each race.
  
  Alternatively using "Test Drive" also works. Credits to Ethigy.

  According to Racer 6981 this does not unlock in drag race anymore and needs to be done on a circuit instead. According to Erathia96 drag races still work. Maybe there's a difference between systems (Window and Xbox). Thanks for the info.

  Thanks for this tracker site. Had no idea it existed and it was of major help. For some reason the 2003 Carrera GT didn't recorded for me, even tough i did all of them one after the other with a checklist. I am PRETTY SURE i didn't skip any by mistake. I would had search a while if not for this tracker site.
  
  On a different note, no idea why solution says 2008 #7 Penske Racing RS Spyder Evo because in my game there is no #7 Penske. Its just Spyder Evo. I taught at first this was a secret car i needed to get somewhere.... but its just the name that is off a bit.

  @Destro WOD: You're welcome. That website https://xbltracker.com is quite helpful for certain achievements, unfortunately it doesn't contain all games and achievements with such a setup (would have helped me a lot with certain achievements in Sea of Thieves).
  
  My best guess for the reason for the different naming in the vehicle could be maybe some region-based translation. As mentioned in the guide, I took the list from the guide provided by Shadow Shifter & sirre0812.
