  First you need to complete the side quests 'Old Times' and 'Wild Ride' in Alexandria.
  Then you can race in the races.
  You'll also get the achievement to destroy an opponents chariot during these races as it's pretty vital to take out a couple of racers to gain track position.
  
  Go to Tournaments and complete the first one (all others are locked).
  I got 2nd place in race one, won Race two and came third in race three. But destroying the chariots of the front runners helped too. In each race you get points for finishing top 5.
  Best to (obviously) aim for 1st, which is 5points.

  Holy crap, that was awful!
  
  Luckily between the tutorial and the 1st tournament (placed 2nd, 2nd 3rd) I got both this and the Road Rageachievements first go, so I won’t be going back to the chariot races anytime soon, that’s for sure. I can also add ramming the other chariots like a psycho was absolutely the way to go.

  I have not tried the ramming tactic, but skipping all the ramming and just ride without touching anything worked fine for me (hold A when you have stamina, refill stamina, hold A again, never let stamina hit zero). After playing the tutorial, I got 1st place in the first and second race. Stupidly, I hit some broken chariot on the road in the final race and got last place but still ended in first place in the total scoring. Maybe try without ramming, if you have difficulties.

  In Kanopos Nome, travel to the Hippodrome and simply win the first tournament. I recommend the first tournament so it is more easier. The tournament is split into 3 races, I came 3rd in my first race but managed to win the other 2 and that was enough for me to win! Taking out other racers is a good way to make sure they don't get in front of you...

  Basically after completing the quest 'Old Times' the hippodrome should unlock go up to the doors (or fast travel to it from the map) to gain entrance.
  
  Simply select the Nike's Winged Victory tournament and go through all three races. You do not have to win all three but the nearer to the top you get the better your chances for victory! After winning the tournament overall the achievement should unlock!
  
  Let's keep on cheevin' together!
