The previous solution is definitely a great way to boost the kW, but I found that I had plenty of money from selling off items that were piling up and was able to pay for kW of power from the fisherman on the west side of Old Lestallum once you go down the stairs. I didn't see it mentioned on here anywhere but I can confirm the achievement popped for me after purchasing power from him. 222000 gill trades for 500k kW of power and 45000 gill for 100kW of power. Not sure if this was added in the recent title update but maybe it will help reduce the grinding for some people.

***I would like to add to my solution that this maybe unnecessary for completionists because by the time you played enough to get a level 99 chocobo and all the sigils you likely will have earned enough power anyway but it is an option if you find yourself coming up short***

The fastest farm method so far is the mission Roboresurrection (in the way to Cauthess Depot).

You can get around 1.200 xp and 6.100 kW for each time you complete it, it takes about 3 to 5 min approx.

    • Equip the lightning katana upgraded. (since the robots are weak against lightning)
    • Only focus the two giant robots for fastest completition. (this will cause to gain less xp)
    • Equip some bullet protection to your character if you are getting in trouble to complete the mission.
    • Aim for the legs and try to counter when they attemp to stomp you.
    • Aim for chains attacks. (blue stance when parry)

You will get around 100k kW in about two hours of farm.

Thank you to Silver Mitsuki to confirm the kW are in total earnings. That said, feel free to spend them

The achievement pop when you are in the power map interface, so visit the map with frecuency when you think you're close to 1M of kW.

SweetArkhaneThe achievement popped after I bought some kW to the fisherman, no need to access the grid.

Runner eGirl60,000 kW after purchasing all nodes (expanded map, after update) were not enough (just additional info to approach the exact amount required). The achievement popped after I looked at the map and then exited it.

you do NOT need to have 999,999KW at any one time, you need to SPEND 999,999KW unlocking routes on the "Power Map".

personally i bought the Yoshitmitsu Katana from Meldacio HQ (need Dave Elkton refugee as LEADER), played Roboressurection like the other guide here recommends (fastest hunt with biggest XP/KW payout) until i reached LVL 26-27. then switched to The Injurious Jabberwock until LVL 31 grinding for dragon horns.

up until then i never sold any crafting materials or weapons or anything else, so selling everything except my yoshimitsu and 2x dragon horns i had ALOT of GIL!

the reason you need GIL is because in one of the updates, they added a FISHERMAN in OLD LESTALLUM (after arriving in OL, head to the opposite side and down the stairs on the left and NAVYTH should be to the right.. fishing) 222,000 GIL for 500,000 KW.

after grinding out robo and jabberwock missions to lvl31 i had 7 sigils unlocked and decided to use some KW to clear up the map for schematics and refugees, before i could clear the power map the achievement unlocked. (all before moving to cape caem)

P.S. in case your wondering what the dragon horns are for, they are to make it easy to level up the yoshimitsu katana to Honebami katana LVL 99.

heres how to get the katana (assuming you elected dave elkton)

    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

THEN take the p.ingot and funny bone to dave at the established trading post at Meldacio HQ.

and how to upgrade to honebami

    *** Spoiler - click to reveal ***

you might also consider only upgrading your weapon when you either have a cid boost to crafting randomly after a mission, or grind out daily missions for elemental stones to purchase a 30% crafting upgrade from lestallum's potion shop behind the steam clean tent. (takes 60 of each crystal to buy the 30% upgrade, you get at least 10 each daily mission) all crafting upgrades are temporary.

MattiasAndersonI elected wrong leader! I was still able to get the weapon!

Also it did not upgrade to the next weapon with just 2 dragon horns! Perhaps when it gets the max level.

SyncTheTempestGood solution although you should mention that for people that want to save some of their gil for crafting or buying cosmetics that you should wait until you get Cindy's food buff after a mission (take vegetables and starches as food; you'll increase the chances of getting her). You'll get a 20% discount on buying any of the Meteorshard packages.

500,000 kW with no food buff = 225,000 gil
    500,000 kW + 20% discount food buff = 177,600 gil

You'll get to keep 47,400 gil. I mention this since it's not easy nor quick to make money in this game.
