I recommend normal for this one, it's not that hard. Average difficulty with bare fists, the way I did it. Very easy with the double gauntlet. Things to do:

    1) Don't use spears or bombs, you only need to use your fists. According to Chaos Mythology the gauntlet (beat the game on normal to unlock it) does not void the achievement (ignore the missleading picture) and the double gauntlet (beat the game on Joe Must die) is the easiest way to get this achievement.
2.1) Avoid the gators by sticking to the wall or bait them to chase you and then get out of the water. Most of them despawn for a while after you have reached the ground.
2.2) Or if you are quick enough and you have the single or the double gauntlet, you can punch them in the face and kill them, according to the people who commented.
    3) Swamp Man boss fights are not hard. Just use your combo.
    4) Go all in when you see a Fat Molded. Combos will interrupt their vomiting attack.
    5) Go stealthy and use stealth kills when possible. Helps a lot.
    6) Four leg molded: That is the only danger. Try to bait them in a corner, then crouch and punch. Sometimes you will hit air but keep trying, 7-8 punches and they are down.
    7) Only on normal on this one. Joe must Die is really hard plus you need to use throwing knives which will maybe void the achievement.

That's all I suppose. If I forgot something comment below. If you downvote, provide the reason. It really helps and its an expression of maturity. Thank you.

ProfJuhCan confirm that dropping down the difficulty to Easy doesn't void the achievement. I also picked up a branch once by accident and immediately removed it from inventory. I assume it doesn't count as using a weapon unless you actually finish off an enemy with it, but I was avoiding weapons entirely just to be on the safe side. Also, no idea how you guys get past those gators without dropping to Easy. I couldn't make it past the first one, and if I baited it away, the second one always got me.

SPΛΙΝΤΞRCΞΛΛThanks for the comments. Dropping to easy can win the achievement but I can't add it to this guide as its the basis of the other guide.

MattiasAndersonThis is possible to get on easy!

EDIT: Well, I did only use the fists and did not get the achievement! But I did pick up branches and weapons but never used them. That might void the achievement!

EDIT: Play on Normal and die many times were there is a crocodile and the game will let you lower the difficulty to easy but when you save the game it will still mention you play on Normal. This is likely how the achievement will unlock.

EDIT: Finished it and never used any weapons after lowering the difficulty mid game. Never picked up any weapon and did not get the achievement.

I thought it did not work to get on easy but unlocked a few hours later when I was watching netflix. lol

The above solution is perfect if you want to play by the rules. Alternatively there is a surprising workaround I discovered for those who want it easy and without having played through before, so as to pair with "Promise Kept" (Still have to avoid alligators though). I got 2/3 of the way through when I ran into a crawling molded that I could not take down. I think it was after every 3rd death or maybe 5th, when the game would ask if I wanted to lower the difficulty. I thought fine - I'll just do this tomorrow, and finish on easy now.

Crazy thing happened: I kept just using my fists (with far less of a challenge) and upon completion I was given credit for a normal playthrough along with all accompanying rewards - AND, voila, this achievement.

If you want to pair this with the "Fastest Man in the Swamp" achievement - after you complete the campaign, all you have to do is reload the last save before the final boss. I had collected maybe 3/4 of the total effigies along the way and ended up with a whole 20 seconds to spare on the extreme challenge for fighting the boss again.

You can also easily pair this with "Queensberry Rules" and "Swamp Warfare." Refer to the posted solutions for those achievements.

BrunatnickStill works. Started on normal and been eaten by crocodile (intended) three times. Game asked to lower difficulty level. Level changed but save files are still normal. Both achievements unlocked.
