Just a note to mention that completing Not a Hero in under an hour will grant the Easy Deflect perk for future playthroughs. This makes the professional difficulty much easier as it allows you to deflect attacks cn_LB without any effort or strict timing, allowing for a follow-up attack.

I didn't know about this upon completing my first playthrough so naturally I took my time. If you're looking to get this DLC done as soon as possible, speed run the first playthrough on easy and this perk will make your professional run less hassle.

MattiasAndersonShit! Got a save only at the end and can´t get under 1 hour! 1 and a half minute too much. lol My first attempt! So annoying!

Made it on my second attempt!

Last achievement for the game now, the professional difficulty.

EDIT: Turns out that this is by far the toughest achievement in the game. I do have enough ammo etc vs the boss and did beat it once under an hour. But the last boss in this dlc is the toughest boss in the game for me.

EDIT: Well, I read about blocking and now it is much easier.

RainbowRaindeerFor anyone new to this dlc and trying to do it on the hardest difficulty my tip is try and save ammo, flame and grenades because by far the boss fight is completely unfair and bullshit boss that I have ever done in my life

Sneaky G WizardYeah, that's legit advice. Think about how much ammo you think you might need for a really hard Resident Evil boss fight. Then double it.

Hey folks, TV here with another solution to help you along the way towards earning this achievement.

Before you even begin Professional Mode I HIGHLY RECOMMEND some prep work beforehand. You'll want to do this to make the difficulty far more bearable though you don't HAVE TO...if you're a masochist/really friggin good with timing.

Step One - Complete the DLC in under 1 hour on Easy or Normal Difficulty - As the other solution mentioned, doing this unlocks the Easy Deflect perk. Easy Deflect means that as long as you hold the LB button roughly...2-3 seconds prior to an attack hitting you'll be able to stagger/knockback an enemy allowing you to follow up with a punch. This punch one shots Regular Molded/Clawed Molded and knocks down the White Molded (not the Fat ones). It also helps with deflecting Mutated Lucas's swipes, leaving him open for additional attacks. I believe it helps with blocking charges from Fat Molded (Regular or White variant) and the Crawlers, though you can't follow up with a Punch for any of these.

I recommend playing on Easy Mode for your speed run though this can be completed on Normal without too much issue. Retrys DO NOT reset the clock!. I know that recent Resident Evil games when you retry it resets the clock but doing so here continues to add time, so if you need to reload simply quit out of the game and hit continue (this will load your most recent manual or auto save). The DLC is pretty liberal with auto-saves, even in Professional mode, so if you're looking to score the fastest time or have the most leftover for the end then make use of quitting/continuing. On a Series X this is so fast it might as well have been hitting the Retry button.

As far as method goes I'll link to a video I used simply to get an idea of what he did. I made efforts to grab more ammo and supplies than he did, so I'd do the quit/continue method to figure out where everything was then do a solid run making slight detours for items as well as Antique Coins. I'll also link to a guide where to find each of the coins. Below it. Ultimately I had about 30 minutes on the clock after the Shield Machine so I was great for time.

    - Speed run, credit to Bawkbasoup.
https://www.shacknews.com/article/102685/re7---not-a-hero-no... - Antique Coin locations, locations are the same for both Easy and Normal mode.

Step Two (Optional) - Complete Normal Mode (if you haven't already) for Thor's Hammer Sight B

This one's optional because ultimately you don't get Thor's Hammer til late in the run but if you want the extra firepower fighting the Fat White Molded then I recommend getting this. Thor's Hammer Sight B enhances the strength of the weapon while reducing accuracy, not a big deal since you'll only be using it one time and immediately going for the Thor's Hammer Sight C (from the cage) which gives power AND accuracy, possibly more power than B as well not sure. Anyways this is awarded automatically if you did the speed run on normal but if not, another run through on Normal won't be that much harder than Easy. Just note you'll have a little less ammo and enemies aren't as weak.
With that out of the way you're ready for this Mode. Note that you'll also unlock Fast Walk if you got all the coins in Easy or Normal. So going into Professional Mode you should (if you desire) have: Easy Deflect, Fast Walk and Thor's Hammer Sight B unlocked for your use. Now onto some notes about this mode...

You start with JUST THE KNIFE! - Very important to note this. You WILL NOT have any firearms until late game, after the Black Shudder door (effectively the third path of the game). So you will have to get comfortable using the knife as if this was Wesker's run in CODE: Veronica X's Battle Game. Or...at least at the start. The first four enemies require the knife to avoid getting hit. After that you can get Easy Deflect from the Item Box and as long as you ALWAYS Deflect attacks you shouldn't take any damage (which you would when guarding) and shouldn't have to worry about using the Knife too often. It's still required for killing the little tiny White Molded, Frog Molded I'll call them since they kind of hop in like a frog when they appear. It also makes use breaking boxes.

Saves are Unlimited - No Tapes required - Unlike Joe Must Die or Madhouse Difficulty, Professional Mode does not restrict Chris's saves. You can save as much as you want without penalty but enemies will have to be gone to do so. See the "Door Trick" for more info if you need to save in the HUB room prior to activating the Shield Machine (enemies despawn permanently from there after this).

Door Trick to Despawn Enemies (especially in the HUB room) - An important trick is that any door you pass through won't have pursuers. If you want to despawn any enemies (who will respawn after awhile) you'll simply want to pass through a door or under a shutter door. In particular you'll want to make use of the Red Shutter Door if you ever need to Save or use the Item Box (as the option is crossed out if enemies are around). Simply go up to the door, press A and duck under it (crouch real quick with the stick) and the enemies will immediately melt into the ground. They're gone for like 5-10 seconds, enough time to access the item box and save. You can do this indefinitely, they always respawn at a set point in the area like any other Resident Evil game so you'll have time to open the door and get under it easily enough. Only problematic if there's a Crawler molded but I never encountered any because I didn't kill any Molded here.

Deflect! Deflect! Deflect! - That's the name of this game. Unlike Joe Must Die mode, Night Terror, Ethan Must Die...Chris's Deflect and Punch make Professional Mode one of the EASIEST highest difficulty modes for this game. That's why you want Easy Deflect - to make it easier on yourself. You CAN Deflect attacks without it but the timing is too risky for my liking, I prefer holding LB a couple seconds before an attack because the window is so generous. You'll figure out when it's a good idea to through trial and error and you'll know you've deflected when the enemy gets knocked back rather than finishes their attack (plus, you can punch them - a few of them anyways). Because of the Deflect you won't really be using the Knife much save for the first four enemies of the game and what I mentioned above about the tiny molded/boxes. Just wait for a molded to walk up to you, wind up one of their attacks and ready to deflect, then ONE PUUUUUUUUNCH and they're dead.

Special Coins Carry Over! - That's right - those coins from DLC will work in Professional Mode but I can't say I noticed a lot of difference. I just figured I'd note it. You can have the Reload, Attack, Defense, Instinct and Universal Coin, plus it stacks if you also have the Survival Set or the Shotgun Set (you get an additional Defense Coin and Instinct Coin from those). You could have all the coins on you at the start of the game and gradually get rid of them as you progress, making sure to make room for other stuff. Don't worry - you can Trash DLC coins and they'll be sent to the Item Box!

Collect All the Antique Coins! - You'll need all 10 in this mode to get everything. 6 for Thor's Hammer Sight C and 4 for a Steroids. Here's a link to a guide showing the Professional Mode coins, they do differ from the Normal Mode (aside from like one of them).

    https://www.shacknews.com/article/102653/re7---not-a-hero-pr...

Save extra pickups passed the Green Door for AFTER the Shield Machine EXCEPT for those near the Night Vision Goggle room and Sewer - Okay so after the Shield Machine has been activated you can go back to everywhere except the very beginning to collect anything you missed. Molded will have despawned from these areas including the ones in the main hub area but there will be a few that might show up (nothing to worry about). Green Door had a couple standard Molded that spawned in and Black Door had the white molded hanging around the room where you get the Clown Key. There is a catch though - you CANNOT access the Night Vision Goggle Room or the Sewer with the tiny white Frog Molded. There's a metal gate that blocks off access to this area and for whatever reason the elevator won't let you go back down so...make sure you get everything when you first hit this area. There's grenades, a med injector, RAMROD ammo and I believe some ammo in the Night Vision Goggle room. Just take your time and look around. After that there are crates surrounding the hole down to the sewer, only the furthest one ever gave me anything in all difficulties. Once you drop down the only item I found here was inside a crate at the elevator, so just make sure to get that if it's important to you. Crate items are randomized so if you don't like what you're getting just hit Retry (there's a Auto Save after leaving the Night Vision Goggle room).
    -------

Alright with those things in mind I'll give a basic walkthrough. I followed the following video, so immense credit to Mr Reign. I also used his Joe Must Die tutorial to get through that mode. If you copy everything he's doing you'll be just fine but for those who prefer a text rundown I'll put that below.

    Beginning

From the start run through the dialogue and you'll get an auto-save partway through you can make use of. Drop down and face the first Molded. If you time your block just right you can Deflect him and punch him, resulting in his death but it is a little tricky to pull off. Best bet is to block and knife, he doesn't take long to kill. Move forward a little and another will spawn in, which rinse and repeat. Finally there's two other molded that will appear. You have two options here - block and run or kill at least one of them (both if you desire) and run towards where you'll meet Lucas. There are no items along the way so you can go up the stairs. Before going in the room though, there's the Item Box with any bonus items you've unlocked available for your use. If you did my recommendations, then grab the Easy Deflect, Fast Walk and any bonus coins you have on hand. Now go through the door.

After the cutscene you'll have to make your way through the next room. There are items here, two that I could find...so be sure to grab them and Easy Deflect/Punch the one molded in here. After this room check the next room for items and proceed to the walkway. A White Molded will appear. Easy Deflect it but you don't have to punch it (saves some time but it's up to you), run passed and then run through the next hallway ignoring the molded that spawns (it won't get you). In the last room here before the elevator Easy Deflect the molded in front of you, punch and hit the button. Turn around and start blocking in case anything is about to swing at you then back up into the elevator. As soon as you enter it they will despawn.

After the Elevator ride you'll arrive in the main HUB room with the shutter doors. Enemies constantly spawn in it...but you don't want to kill all of them. In fact you'd be better off not killing any, as it chances the spawn of Crawler Molded. I won't bother mentioning coin locations so refer to the guide above for that...but make your way passed the molded to the Red Shutter Door. Using the Door Trick you'll get them to despawn for a moment so you can walk back out there and collect any items you can find including the Antique Coin. Run back and use the door as much as you need to save, open the item box and get everything in the area.

    Red Shutter Door Path

This one's probably the hardest simply due to the White Fat Molded. So once you go through the hallway and up the elevator, you'll arrive at the big location with the cell key. Immediately go right so you're in the area in the southern most of the map and out of sight of the Fat White Molded (Molded White Fat/Molded Fat White...just excuse me if I shuffle the words a bit lol). Alright now you're going to want to chill in this minecart track area for a bit until you've killed ALL 6 REGULAR MOLDED. They come to you on their own for the most part, one might even trip a trap next to a minecart (be sure to check and make sure you don't touch it yourself!). Simply Easy Deflect/Punch all 6 and once that's done you can start getting the necessary items.

So in the video MrReign chose to go towards the Gear first, then placed it and threw a blue grenade at the white fat molded to stun it long enough to grab other items, the handle and run back. He used another to stun it again...but I had trouble getting more than one stun on this chick (I think it's a chick, he kept calling it by female terms). My method differs a little bit...I chose to instead go left from where I took out the regular molded and waited until big bertha here went beyond the machine that has the key. I then ran to the grenades and handle, hopped off the ledge here and quickly went back to avoid getting spotted by her. She has a set path where she'll walk around the machine and go all the way close to where the Gear was, then turn around completing her circle. Making use of the time her back would be turned allowed me to get the handle...and then the Gear...then put both in the machine. After that I hid again...but I don't think I needed to. Once you start turning the crank she just kind of woddles over...she didn't attack me but YOUR MILAGE MAY VARY, maybe I got lucky. After I completed turning the crank I tossed a blue grenade at her, grabbed the key, then went to the right of the machine to break the box there with my knife for an item and I got the hell out of there.

This entire sequence can be annoying if you get spotted or something screws up - it takes at least 5 minutes depending on how long it takes all the regular molded to come to you. Just be patient. After you have the key, go visit the captured Umbrella guy and take his filter. Head back to the main hub, despawn the enemies with the door, save and do any item management you need then head to the green door.

    Green Shutter Door Path

Head down the stairs and into the catacombs, following the path along like you normally would. Run all the way to the Night Vision Goggle room, you can easily avoid any Molded along the way. Be sure to grab everything here and in the next area, as I mentioned above you'll lose access to this section of the path later. After you have the goggles and supplies, head out for an Auto Save (there's been plenty, way more than the other modes I just figured I'd mention it there) and break the boxes before heading in the hole. From here MrReign armed himself with incendiary grenades but I chose to save mine as he mentioned just running around with a knife. So once you land and do the door puzzle (Up Down Up for the switches), you'll have to hit the elevator and wait on it to arrive. Plenty of the tiny white Frog Molded will show up so you need to run around in circles slashing your knife and get whatever item is in the box. For me it was a med injector so after I took a little damage I used one, grabbed that and I was golden. Head into the elevator and make sure none followed you in (I had it happen in Normal lol)...you'll get an Auto-Save when you get out of the elevator.

Here I recommend knifing the tiny white Frog Molded in front of you and grabbing the stuff there, then the White Molded shows up Easy Deflect and run passed it, making sure to duck before you reach the end of that corridor. Walk along crouched to avoid the turrets then when you're at the turret on you right ready a grenade or a blue grenade, tossing it into the open hallway. There's a Fat Molded waiting for you there. After he's stunned run passed him and as you reach a door you can open you'll get an Auto Save. Ready a blue grenade, open the door and turn to see two crawlers. Toss the blue grenade and it'll stun them, allowing both to be killed very easily with the Knife. After that stay ducked and toss a regular Grenade at the three turrets to shut them down. Go passed them, duck and move your way out of the Green path all the way back to the Hub. Rinse repease the despawn trick, save and item management.

    Black Shutter Door Path

Avoid the floor traps as per normal and get what you can from this immediate area before moving forward. You'll FINALLY find a gun, the Albert-01 Handgun. You'll need it right away after pushing the minecart as a Fat Molded will appear. Thankfully it doesn't take much to put it down - 3 shots, that's all you'll need and any more you should retry (auto-save when you came in here). Once it's gone make your way to the next minecart room and you'll head to the one that opens a path to where a Fat Molded will spawn. From memory I can't tell you which one that is exactly but you can figure it out - it's the one that doesn't have balloons on it that opens a path. Once you've pushed it you'll run IMMEDIATELY left passed the column to the minecart in front of you. Quickly grab hold and the Fat Molded will blow itself up on the cart, sparing you any damage. It may or may not work but it worked for me. Anyways go to where he was for a Lockpick and then finish the puzzle to move to the next area.

Be wary of a ceiling trap here, you'll be making use of all the traps in this area to dispose of the Crawler Molded. Move into the door on the right and stay ducked as you pick up handgun ammo and a med injector (you can leave it if you need to for space, if you're ever low on space and still carrying Bonus Coins, get rid of them gradually until you're out of the coins...you can also get rid of Fast Walk for a bit if you desire). There's a tricky trap after the second box of handgun ammo, where you'll need to hug the wall to the right to avoid it. Stay ducked and grab the Clown Key. Once you do this, walk towards the trap next to you to spawn the Crawler Molded and start blocking, moving slightly back. The goal is to have it jump and hit the trap in front of you while giving you next to no damage. After it's dead, move back to where you found the second handgun ammo on a barrel to spawn more Crawlers, making sure to hug the wall next to the column to avoid the trap there. Once you've spawned them head back and have both Crawlers kill themselves on traps. After this your only concern is the remaining traps in the room which a White Molded will keep walking into. Once they've hit the last one they'll be knocked to the ground for a second. Run out of the room and hug the wall immediately in front of you, moving back to where you first entered this hall and move around the corner to trick a Crawler into blowing itself up on the ceiling trap. After this just head into the next area. There's a coin here, I know I don't mention them much but might as well grab it now. Also the ammo here.

In the next area don't shoot any of these traps - instead...go down the stairs and stay crawling, aim your gun towards the bottom of the door and wait for a tiny white Frog Molded to spawn. Take it out, then move to the next room. You'll have to take about four of these out before they jump into any of the nearby traps. At least two can be killed with the knife, I recommend doing that to the second (up on a ramp) and the last one (just before the lever). After you've deactivated the traps you'll find the Thor's Hammer Shotgun here at last. Item management as much as you need to so you can also grab the Shotgun Shells in this area and proceed forward until Marquez (the soldier here) dies.

Wrist Bomb Timer and Fat White Molded Fight

Unlike other modes you get 8 minutes to remove the bomb this time. Not too bad honestly...just don't waste any time and hit retry as you need to. Climb the ladder, out the door and when you get to the initial cavern here with the trap...see if you can lure the two molded towards it. After that there's a fat molded you should put down with 3 handgun shots. Note - ALL OF THE FLOOR TRAPS ARE DEACTIVATED, YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THEM. I think they got deactivated along with every laser trap when you pulled the switch. Anyways...out the Black Shutter Door and use the Red Shutter Door to despawn enemies, save and item manage...if you have Thor's Hammer Sight B I recommend equipping it now. He didn't do it in the video but you actually have to use the Item, which will swap out the Sight putting Sight A in your inventory. Throw Sight A into the item box and also put away your med injectors, no real reason to use them coming up.

Head into the Red Shutter Door and Easy Deflect/Punch the first enemy. You can run passed the second, up the elevator and when you arrive you'll run to where you killed those 6 regular molded earlier (bottom right of this room with the minecart track). Follow this along then move left passed the area where we did the crank deal. Make sure that you have the cursor on the Clown Key, run up to the door Hit A a couple times and press against it. If you were fast enough nothing will touch you, as there could be two Crawlers behind you. Once you're inside grab what you need from that room, Easy Deflect and Punch the White Molded to get passed it into the next room. Do NOT go left yet, instead go right under the door and head to the end of this path. STOP! HANDGUN TIME! Look on the left side of the vehicle for a bomb, shoot it and then get the items here. Now head back and trigger the Auto Save before moving into the Fat White Molded boss fight.

Break the box to your left, grab the stuff along the truck and any boxes you can find then trigger the obstacle to fall, blocking your path and spawning the Fat White Molded. Alright so the trick here is to immediately shoot her ONCE with a RAMROD round (the Anti-Regen round, whatever it's called) and then switch to your Shotgun to shoot it in the head until you're about 3 or 4 shells left. Follow up with a punch while it's available, then toss a Grenade beneath her. This will stun her again, allowing more Shotgun blasts to the head. She's kind of a pain after the second stun to get her stunned again but if you time the explosion of the grenade right it CAN work. Avoid any of the tiny white Frog Molded that show up and finish her off best you can with the Shotgun/Punches, I think on the third Stun I got her.

After she's dead freeze the bomb, Chris throws it and you can collect whatever in the area including a coin passed the boss fight room. Once you're back down in the main HUB go ahead and use the clown key, save when it lets you and head back to get any coins you missed as well as other supplies. Most areas will be void of enemies, minus a White Molded in the Black Shutter Path (same one that tripped the mines from earlier) and a couple regular molded on the Green Path. I wouldn't recommend going back to the big room of the Red Path unless you forgot items...I think Crawlers are still there. Once you have ten coins, come back and open both the cages for Steroids and the Thor's Hammer Sight C. The toolbox with the lockpick lock is also here so open that for some Anti-Regen Ammo. There's also a Stabilizer with one of the coins on the Green Shutter Path through the clown door. Make sure to use Sight C on the Shotgun, then store the B one away and you can leave your med injectors in the item box. SAVE

    Shield Machine Room

After getting the supplies and heading inside - you can do this a number of ways.

    Phase 1
You can wait for enemy attacks, Easy Deflect/Punch and try to avoid damage from enemies this way. Along the way one Fat Molded will spawn and if you Punch at the right time a regular molded, it'll kill him too. Additionally a White Molded spawns so make sure to switch to the Anti-Regen ammo to pop it once, then switch ammo back to regular. You can also make use of your regular Handgun ammo to pop each molded in the belly, forcing them into a Puncheble position. That's right, it's not 100% of the time depending on how they're standing but if you give them a body shot, it tends to result in them keeling over for a Punch. Good time to use the regular handgun ammo. Keep blocking and deflecting that way as well to get through this phase easily enough.

    Phase 2
Head to the corner where you'll be pulling up the vent to escape later. Ready the shotgun and aim to where the Crawler is gonna show up. Pop him twice (if you're lucky one might do him in) and wait for the next one. After that you can either - keep using the shotgun and Easy Deflects for regular molded while keeping the shotgun handy for additional crawlers (I think it's 2-3 more that show up) or you can alternate to the Handgun for more body shots/punches. At some point a White Molded will show up so be ready with an Anti-Regen for it. When Lucas starts yammering you'll be on Phase 3.

    Phase 3
I recommend using Blue Grenades here. Stun them, lay into their heads with the shotgun or Handgun (use up the last of the Handgun ammo but NOT the Anti-Regen, save that for Lucas) and maybe throw in some other grenades if you wish. Make sure that before you kill them you run UP the stairs and grab the supplies here, as Lucas's video call will be overtop and may make it difficult to see. There's also Anti-Regen ammo on the first floor near where most of the action was.

Once you're done here escape through the regular vents and make your way to the lab.

    Lab and Final Battle

There's no toolbox here so just make your way into the lab and into the door on the left where Eveline was kept. There's some tiny white Frog Molded in here but no items, so just run passed them into the padded room where a single Clawed Molded exists (this room is harder in Easy/normal because of the white molded lol). Deal with him, ignore him...whatever you feel is necessary to get the ammo and med injector, then leave this area altogether heading up the stairs. Be wary, there's a fat molded here...but he's super easy to avoid just hugging the wall on the right. The problem comes in with the crawlers though...you may want to toss a blue grenade to slow their movements and grab the items next to the molded laying on a gurney. There's a grenade and some ammo. After this, run all the way to the room where you pull the switch...and pull the switch? Yeah, do that. Back in the hallway there's some ammo on a gurney. Go into the room Lucas was in and raid it for all the goodies.

Item management wise you'll want - the knife (until you've gotten everything you can carry in the final boss room, then switch it for an explosive), the shotgun, the handgun and incendiary grenades. I had a lot, like 8 I think at the time so I had my stack of 6 set. Save....and make sure to pick up the shotgun ammo next to the turret in the hallway (inside a locker). Once you get into the final boss area grab as much ammo as you can from the boxes while the dialogue plays...and prepare yourself for the final fight. Remove the knife since I didn't use it and it takes up space that could be for grenades.

    Phase 1
After you initiate the fight, MrReign suggests waiting until he roars after being hatched before tossing an incendiary grenade in his face. Then switch to the shotgun and have at him. When he's swinging, I found that I could Easy Deflect his overhead swing from his right arm which would stagger him (I didn't see if you could punch but I just used it to shoot him some more). You might be able to deflect his other swings but for me, only having to try one time, I kept stun locking him. When his chest core is exposed switch to the Anti-Regen rounds in your handgun and lay into him, stop firing though when he starts to move so you can save them for just the weak spot.

    Phase 2
After he hops onto a platform and the air becomes toxic, you're gonna want to go ham on incendiary grenades and alternating to the shotgun. Do item management as needed to rearrange stuff you run out of and just keep shooting him this way, only switching to Anti-Regen when his chest is exposed and with a clear shot. He gets a bit rapid with his swings but I was able to Deflect, causing him to stagger in this phase as well. I was actually surprised when I beat him as I thought this would be WAY harder. Keep going until the weakspot stops glowing and you've won the battle.

Side Notes: Keep your distance when he's on the platform to avoid being jumped on and there's also a Vomit move like the Fat Molded. Blocking may help, may need to duck...I didn't encounter any of these but I know they're a thing.
    ----

I do hope this helped. I wanted to create this guide since there wasn't one going in depth about the mode but it overall isn't as bad as some of the other DLCs difficulty wise due to Chris being OP with blocking and Easy Deflects.
    Showing both comments.
ExtravadanzaAwesome guide, this one should be up top so people can see it.
Just beat the game in an hour and a half with few deaths.

My heart was racing on that final boss. I had 24 shotty, 80 handgun, 8 ram rods, and a combination of about 10 grenades. I killed him with LITERALLY my last standard pistol round shock
