To get this achievement, 1000 Thieves dealt with, you want to kill 1000 thieves before they get away. The good news here is that you don't have to be the one who has killed them, thieves killed by steam bots count too. The bad news here is that you will only get between 1-25 thieves a day, depending on your item price and skills. This unlocked for me on day 80, that's 20 hours of game play but can be finished a bit quicker. So let's begin...
Let's start off and get a thief defence network going. When you have enough Kpoints (experience), unlock the Engineering skill. When the shop shuts at the end of the day, go to place furniture and place a Bot Dock by the door (costs 450c). If you have enough then buy 2. Next, order in an "MK III Steam H-Bot" for each Bot Dock you have and place them on the docks with
. Press
on the bot and click the button called "Thief Zapper". This means that whenever your shop is open the bot will take 50c per minute (750c a day - a small price to pay) and it will zap thieves, killing them instantly. This means you no longer have to spend time keeping an eye on potential thieves and chasing them down. Plus the bot is also 100% accurate so won't accidentally miss and kill an innocent customer or damage furniture. However, you do still have to clean up dead bodies to keep your rating high and pick up dropped items to resell.
Now you've got a way of auto-killing thieves, we just need to get the thieves in. The number of thieves you get in a day depends on the resale value of your stock. You can change this value using the D pad
, the higher the number is the higher your price. I found that whatever number over 100 I set my prices to would be the average number of thieves I had in a day; for example, if I sold everything at 110 (110% resale price) I would get on average 10 thieves a day and selling at 120 would give me 20 thieves etc. The problem is, if you set the price too high then you won't get as many customers and you'll struggle to get enough coins to maintain your bots and earn other achievements. I found 120 the perfect balance. It is also important that you
NEVER unlock the skills Moral Guide or Think Again. They massively reduce the chance of thieves coming into the store. I accidentally purchased Moral Guide around day 40 and I noticed the number of thieves coming in halved instantly, taking me a lot longer to finish.
That's all there is to it. It will probably take you less than 10 in game days to get familiar with the controls and earn enough money and Kpoints to unlock what you need. After that, if you're getting around 20 thieves a day and dealing with them correctly it will take you around 50 in game days, that's 12-13 hours of game play. The achievement is a grind but if you're going for a full year of game play then it's the least of your worries.
