This achievement is pretty easy to get but you will have to go out of your way to earn it. You earn hunting points for killing wild animals. The game calculates a point value for the quality of your kill: animal level and number of hits/shots it took you to kill it. The single highest number is your hunting point total.

To get this achievement you need to break 5000. The highest hunting point reward is for over 9000. The rewards are cumulative and you do not spend the points.

To get this achievement, you will want to kill a high level animal in a few shots. My character was fairly high level, but I also doubled the achievement requirement (10435) so i am sure you could accumulate 5000 at a lower level. If you try any hunting in this game, you will find that if you crouch, the enemies almost never see you, so its pretty easy to kill them in multiple hits.

Make sure to equip more powerful arrows - fire arrows are the highest-damaging, easily available arrow, and do dramatically more damage than your infinite plain arrows.

To find animals that are a high enough level, you want to look for lv 35-45 animals which you will find off the beaten path. I had the best luck with the stretch of mountains south of Xu Chang, playing as a Wei character. This mountain range has no scenic points or any other points of interest in it and stretches north of the river, southeasternly, from Xinye. In chapter 3 of the Wei scenario, I found lv 35-50 Golden Tigers in this range. Golden Tigers seem to be worth quite a bit more hunting points than regular tigers (there are also regular tigers in this area). Lv 35 regular tigers did not get me the achievement, but lv 47 golden tigers did. With headshots, I was able to kill one in 3 hits. My bow skill was not enhanced by any items and was about 400 with fire arrows. If you are lower level, compensating with a bow damage accessory and gems can assist you.

If others playing in other storylines locate good sources for high-level animals, post them as a comment and I will edit them in. Higher elevations and more remoteness from landmarks seem like the things that cause animal levels to be the highest (this mountain range is literally empty).
