Finally figured out how to get this achievement. I had noticed that my dummy account had 6% progress from before they even started putting out patches but never figured out why. Well, in experimenting since the most recent patch, I actually think this achievement has been working all along, only the requirements are wrong.

This achievement is not for hitting 1000 RBIs, but for giving up 1000 runs, and only in Smart Match online games.

This is why my dummy account had progress, because while going for the other achievements and testing out going for this one, I scored runs against my dummy account in Smart Match games.

So, the fastest way to do it is to get into a Smart Match game with a dummy account or a friend and let them bunt and bunt and bunt and score tons of runs against you. There's a problem though, and that is that at least 1/3 of the time, at the end of the game I would get an error that the scoreboards were not presently available, and I would get no progress on the tracker for however many runs I just did. So for that reason I recommend only doing 20-30 at a time. I was doing 50 for a little while without issues, so you can try that, but after losing well over 500-600 runs total over the whole time I was doing this, I was tired of it and just started doing smaller amounts in each game.

Ideally, you want to be the home team so that the away team can score all 20-30, or however many runs you feel comfortable risking losing, in the first inning and then you get 3 quick outs in the bottom of the first and the game ends because of the mercy rule. If you're doing it with a friend, then you'll want to score equal numbers of runs until you let one of you score an extra 10 and end the game by mercy rule. Just don't get too greedy and try too many in one game in case you get that scoreboard error and lose your progress from that game.

The most consistent way I found for being the home team is by changing my uniform to Home on the team selection screen, and then searching with the dummy account/road uniform first and then a second later search with my account/home uniform. It wasn't 100% but I'd say at least 80% of the time doing this I was the home team. If you end up being the road team, just let the dummy/home team score 10 quick runs and end the game so you don't have to waste time scoring runs yourself which give you no progress at all. If you're boosting with a friend then that's different obviously and you can work that out with that person to keep it even.
