If you play on the Hard or Tour Pro, it's almost as much a case that you will "beat yourself" rather than lose to the AI
It's 18 hole match play vs Tiger Woods, on Pebble Beach, with gale force winds, which almost always play side to side or into your face, hard pin placement and challenging greens.
I would suggest tuning your clubs to reduce loft, as this will reduce the impact the wind can have, with high loft irons, it can be near impossible to land a shot on the green with a 40 or 50 wind in your face.
It's worth reducing loft even at the cost of power, as being taken by the wind can drive your shots far off course, and can prevent certain shots from even having a chance at the green.
If you end up with 75 to 125 distance shot into a high wind in your face, think about using the punch shot type instead of a normal or pitching shot.
Play safe, reduce loft, always think about just how much the wind will take that shot. Anytime you have to deal with water, play it even safer.
After the first 6 or 7 holes, you will probably be 2 or 3 up, before heading into the dreaded 8 to 13 hole section, which many players end up dropping 3 or even 4 points on.
The aim should be to try and stay 1 or 2 ahead. There are a few holes which can catch the AI and cause it huge problems, for example, the 17th, as the AI tries to use the Driver or a Wood to hit the par 4 in one shot, only for it to bounce off the green into the water behind the green. Avoid making this mistake yourself.
Stay patient, play safe, and concentrate on shot selection.
