This battle takes place in the Crystal Cave, which is accessible from the Duke's Archives.

Seath the Scaleless is one of four primary bosses that you must defeat to open the path to the Kiln of the First Flame which leads to Gwyn, the game's final boss. In order to fight him in the Crystal Cave, you must forst encounter him in an unwinnable battle in the Duke's Archives where you must die.

The Duke's Archives are accessed from Anor Londo. Exit the room with the main Anor Londo bonfire and head to the left, through a building with a few Sentinels. You'll follow a path that leads to a long hallway with an Amorored Tusk enemy and eventually pass a second such enemy before reaching a room with a bonfire and a lift. Take this lift up to the next area, make your way past several enemies and up some stairs to reach a second lift. Take this lift up to an area with a small crystalline hallway that leads to the aforementioned unwinnable Seath encounter. You can use a Ring of Sacrifice here to avoid losing your humanity and souls since you must die to progress.

You will revive in a jail area containing a bonfire that cannot be warped from. Kill the enemy standing outside for the key to the cell, then make your way down the spiraling stairs to the bottom of the area. Climb a ladder to get to a platform with a few more enemies and a chest containing the key to the large doors at the top of the area. Follow a linear path back into the main Duke's Archives area and work your way around various levels and use rotating staircases to get to a room with an archer on a high ledge and a lever you can pull to move a bookcase. You'll find the Duke's Archives bonfire on a nearby ledge which can be warped to and from if needed. There is another nearby room with a lever that opens a stairway that you can use to get to the outside courtyard that leads to the Crystal Cave.

This area has several invisible pathways that need to be traversed in order to reach the Seath encounter. You can see the falling snowflakes landing on these invisible pathways in addition to any orange soapstone messages that other players may have left on them to help.

At the opposite end of this area (after the last invisible pathway) is a room full of ManEater Shells. You can engage them one at a time if you want to kill them or you can run past them into the next room to begin the Seath battle. The first time you engage Seath there is no fog wall so enemies can follow you in. If you choose to run past these enemies, save and quit from the menu once the boss battle starts and when you continue, there will be a fog wall to traverse that will keep the enemies out.

Once the battle begins for real, you need to run past Seath and destroy an obvious crystal that will stun him briefly and make it so he can be damaged. I suggest wearing the Cursebite Ring (found in New Londo Ruins) to improve your Curse resistance as Seath will do attacks that can curse you quickly. I generally just tuck myself against his body where one of his tentacles meet his body and attack him from there, healing whenever necessary. This battle is generally pretty easy.

Note that you need to cut off Seath's Tail for a weapon that is needed for the Knight's Honor achievement, so you should consider trying to do that first.

Once you defeat Seath, the achievement will unlock. Good luck!
