I'll just list the different plants you need, the level to unlock them and a small tip for each. Also know that with a vision camera, you can get the seeds for the plants before you're a high enough level to buy them from Costolot by scanning the appropriate card.

Yam - Level 2 - This is one of the first plants you'll probably plant. Pretty simple by just watering it a few times.

Orange Tree - Level 5 - I had the most trouble growing this one. What I did was planted the tree and immediately put Orange Fertilizer on it and watered regularly. Once it seemed to be in the next stage of growth, I fertilized again. I did that one more time after it grew some more and eventually the oranges sprouted. I tried planting the tree a couple times before and it never got past its original, short phase.

Prickly Pear (Weed) - Level 6 - This is a weed so it'll grow very quickly. Just hack it up or sell it when it finishes growing if you don't want them to spread everywhere!

Cactus - Level 8 - You just need to plant this in sand and water regularly.

You can check which plants you've grown to maturity by looking in your Journal and clicking on Player Awards for plants!
