This achievement is story related and cannot be missed. The achievement is unlocked at the end of Chapter 14 during your third playthrough.

Playing as A2, when you finish the next to the last main story mission in chapter 14, Village Turmoil, you are instructed to travel to the Abandoned Factory. Fast travel to the Abandoned Factory Entrance and make a save at the access point. You will not have another opportunity to make a save until after the conditions for unlocking the achievement have been met. The achievement will unlock when you finish the following and final main story mission of Chapter 14.

If you finish the chapter without unlocking the achievement, you have probably experienced a glitch. In the event of a glitch, clear the cache. To do so, turn off the console by holding the cn_guide button on the console for at least ten seconds and then unplug the console for at least 20 seconds. Load the save you made at the Factory Entrance access point. Clearing the cache will most likely remedy the problem and the achievement should unlock when you replay the end of the chapter.

Allgorhythm In other cases where games have significant achievement glitching issues, cache clear is always an effective remedy. For this reason, I have always used a caveat when describing thie method; although your is the first instance I know of where it did not work for Automata.

I suffered six achievement glitch issues some story related some not. One of the achievements popped as soon as I loaded the game on a second XBox without replaying the section where the achievement glitched. In the five other instances, I have had to clear the cache, load the save made before the glitch occurred, and then replay the section where the glitch occurred.

I have no personal experience that clearing the cache and replaying a story related achievement with chapter select will remedy the situation. I have read some accounts that this has worked. Did you have this issue clearing the cache and replaying the end of chapter 14 during your third playthrough using a save file? Or, are you having the problem after clearing the cache and using chapter select to replay all or part of chapter 14?

TheIcemanCometh I was trying to replay the end of Chapter 14. But this was likely not a cache-clearing issue. It turned out it was a "delayed delivery" issue. The achievement registered a coupe of hours after I'd stopped playing for the day. I wasn't even on the console at the time and noticed it showing up on my feed here.

Allgorhythm That's great news. It's a shame that we've had these glitches that distract from the gaming experience but I'm glad it worked out.
