How to unlock the Weapons Maniac achievement

  • AllgorhythmAllgorhythm
    16 Jul 2018 17 Jul 2018
This achievement is unlocked when you acquire the 17th of 17 pod programs in the game. In addition to the pod program you start the game with, you obtain one through normal story progression. Six can be bought. The remaining nine are rewards from side quests or are found at specific locations during the third playthrough.

The achievement can be purchased from the special achievement shop available after your third playthrough. It costs 100,000 G.

You can track your progress by pressing the menu cn_start button tabbing to Skills and looking at pod programs. The percentage of pod programs will be shown and you can look at the ones you have. The following is a list of all 17 pod programs:

    Story related cannot be missed:
R010 Laser (Starting pod program), A170 Scanner
Available for purchase. Priced at 10,000G each from maintenance in the bunker terminal or from the maintenance shop in the Resistance camp:
    R020 Mirage, R030 Hammer, R040 Blade, R050 Spear, R060 P Shield, R070 M Shield
    Side quest rewards:
A140 Gravity - Retrieve the Confidential Intel
    A080 Wave - Wandering Couple
    A090 Wire - Amnesia
    A110 Slow - Data Analysis Freak 2
    A120 Repair - Sorting Trouble 3
    A130 Bomb - Find a Present
Found near android corpses in the third playthrough:
A100 Decoy – On the bridge between the two buildings you descend to following the prologue. An easy way to find it is to climb the very tall ladder in the building you come out of at the start of chapter 2 when you first arrived at the City Ruins. Once at the top, you can look down and see the bridge between the two buildings. Drop down to it and pick up the pod program next to the YoRHa corpse on the bridge.
A150 Volt – The festive robot tank you either fought or bypassed in the Amusement Park during the first two playthroughs (Chapter 04-02) reappears in your third playthrough. You do not have to fight the tank. Just go to the courtyard where it is found and pick up the pod program next to the YoRHa corpse on the ground.
A160 Missile – Go all the way through the abandoned factory. When you get outside descending the final stairs to ‘ground’ level, there are some containers near the stairs. The pod program is next to a YoRHa corpse on top of one of the containers.

When you acquire your 16th pod program, make a save before going after the 17th program. If the achievement does not unlock when you pick up the 17th program, you most likely have experienced a glitch. In the event of a glitch, clear the cache. To do so, turn off the console by holding the cn_guide button on the console for at least ten seconds and then unplug the console for at least 20 seconds. Load the save you made just before obtaining the 17th pod program. Clearing the cache will most likely remedy the problem. Reacquire the 17th pod program. The achievement should now unlock.

FiveWizzI'm only a tad concerned. For some reason the pod I found in the desert (can't remember what quest I had for it) had the gravity programme on it not Bomb. Apparently the gravity one I should get for the Intel side quest.

AllgorhythmI believe you're fine. Just so I understand the question, we're talking about pod programs here and not pods. Pod C is the pod found in the desert. It's the one that targets enemies with markers when you press the fire button and then lets loose a barrage of rockets. A140 Gravity and A130 Bomb are both pod programs. They are special abilities. In other words, you are dispensing with the regular attack of Pod A, B, or C in favor of the special ability.

Whereas the ability is independent of the pod, it is influenced by the number of pods you have. For example, with all three pods attached, you can charge up the special ability to give it more power, larger AOE, or increased number of attacks depending on the pod program.

FruitofPassionI already have it, and don't remember where it's from, but I noticed you forgot to include the Scanner program.

AllgorhythmIf you're referring to the A170 Scanner, it's included:
    Story related cannot be missed:
R010 Laser (Starting pod program), A170 Scanner
