For this achievement, it's pretty self-explanatory as to what you have to kill, but what are classified as "friendly" machine lifeforms? Well, non-friendly/passive robots will have a reticle on them when you're near them. Friendly ones will have a greenish chevron over their head and you can talk to them, passive/non-friendly you can't. When you attack them their health is green instead of the beige/tan coloring. The best location is the Park Ruins which you encounter after the Desert. There's plenty there and I was able to get all of them before facing the miniboss of the area. One of the dead giveaways is that they're named characters. Not like the character of "Jackass" but "Big Brother" and so on. An example of a "friendly" undamaged robot is below.

FruitofPassionI found it most convenient to combo this achievement with going for the "Transcendent Being" achievement (all endings unlocked) and thus kill every machine in Pascel's village to get "Ending N: [N]o Man's Village."
Since it's needed anyways it is a good time to go for it.

Friendly machines are depicted with a white dot. The earliest the achievement can be unlocked is during your first playthrough at the beginning of Chapter 4. When you enter the amusement park during the MIA main story mission, there are more than 10 machines depicted by a white dot destroying them unlocks the achievement. There is the possibility this achievement will be glitched. So, make a save at the Amusement Park access point before destroying your 10th friendly machine if this is where you decide to earn the achievement.

Recommended point to get the achievement--Machine Village: If you are working towards all 26 endings, kill two birds with one stone and get this achievement while you are working on the N ending. This requires you to kill all machines in the machine village. There are far more than 10. When you first reach the machine village at the beginning of chapter 5 doing the Machine Recon main story mission, make a save at the access point just to the right of Pascal before talking to him. Then, kill Pascal and all other machines in the village to earn the N ending for [N]o Man's Village. The achievement should unlock when you kill your tenth friendly machine. Once you get the N ending and are back at the title screen, reload the save you made at the Machine Village Access Point and continue with your game.

Regardless of where you destroy the tenth friendly machine, if the achievement does not unlock, you have probably experienced a glitch. In this event, clear the cache. To do so, turn off the console by holding the cn_guide button on the console for at least ten seconds and then unplug the console for at least 20 seconds. Load the save you made before destroying the tenth friendly machine. Clearing the cache will most likely remedy the problem and you should earn the achievement when you destroy your 10th friendly machine.

Note: This achievement is available for sale from the special achievement shop that becomes available after your third playthrough. It costs 50,000 gold.

You can get this in the amusement park ruins which is the next chapter after the desert.

The machines you want to kill inside the park will not fight back. You know they will count towards the achievement if they have a green health bar when you hit them. The ones you want to aim for are the machines standing around that you can talk to. Be sure to talk to them first as a couple will give you items that can be sold for 5000G.

Just be mindful, when you attack them, even though they won’t fight back others will and will likely come after you after the first hit. They are quite easy and are also good for getting some extra gold.

While making your way through the park, you may not get all 10 but you will have more to strike down after the boss battle. As a side note, the tank enemy can be bypassed as it’s more of a side boss if you choose to fight it.
