You might have noticed the medals that are sometimes dropped by enemies. Those count for progress to unlock abilities. On the character screen you can select one (at prestige level 10 two) abilities. Select the empty field and you will get to the overview of all abilities (each with four levels). If you have enough medals you can unlock one. Repeat 34 times. There's a total of 44 different abilities, so choose the ones where you get the medals easy enough.

This will take quite some time, because several of those abilities require special medals that randomly drop. You also have to switch between characters, as there are abilities that only some characters can unlock.

This is going to be one of the last achievements you unlock due to the randomness of the drops and the sheer amount of medals needed.

Update: What you can do to make this a bit less tedious is to look at the upgrade screen and write down which enemies you have to encounter. Then when you do see them in a level just farm them. Kill them, hope for a medal drop, then just kill yourself and restart the level. This is especially useful if you encounter a special enemy near the level start. But still you will only get a medal drop every 1 in 3 runs.

mosin360Honestly, its a real grind and dick move by the dev to have the system like this. To be fair, mobs should just drop tokens that you spend to unlock what you want. Their system is total luck. I hope someone finds a way to speed this along.

LunarKnightXIt's a grind, but not severely random. Most of the non rare monsters will unlock their skills moderately quickly, except maybe some of the lesser seen large monsters. When on the mode select screen after picking a hero you can press RT to search for dungeons. One of the filter options is by rare monsters, so look for a small 5 or 10 floor dungeon to try to find it without having to fly through too many floors. When you find a rare monster you want to farm, kill/loot it, die, then press A to restart the dungeon, you will keep whatever it dropped then restart on the same floor you were on. Wash, rinse, repeat to get the 8ish drops needed to unlock rare monster skills. On your loadout screen you can press Y to change what summons you have equipped, swap one out for Ulpros and summon him after you kill the monster but before you pick up the monster badge thing, Ulpros has a pretty high chance to duplicate the badges and money you pick up, so it will cut grind time down by almost half.

a13onI found that on higher difficulties enemies are much more likely to drop medals as well.

SeitzzIt can be easy to grind rare medals in a hard level mayhem dungeon. I've had 4-5 rares spawn on the first level. Just kill and repeat the level. Usually only 1 rare on each of the next levels I found.

Seitzz@LunarKnightX Great tips. I wasn't sure how the search worked, but for me, every time, the rare monster was in the first level. And I completely forgot about the ancient that doubles your medals sometimes. That was great.
