When I got this, I waited at the archway where the Shriekers were and used a ranged attack to draw Alexander to me. By Alexander's third turn, a giant void worm will appear. It will take the attention of most of the magisters. The worm isn't strong enough to fight off all of them, so let the magisters kill it and use the time it takes for them to do it killing all the melee enemies. Once Alexander dies, whether the battle ends or not, you will get the achievement.

Pink Freud PhDAs I took the route of burning him down instead, I'll pop my strategy in as a comment here.

I took the side route (east), that was cleared of Shriekers by Slane but you can use the Purging Wand or Tyrant's Helm to clear them yourself if you didn't free Slane.

From the vantage point of the eastern side, it blocks you off from their caster and gives you height advantage for, at the very least, the first round. Immediately gain control of the battlefield however your party is set up to do so and teleport Alexandar up to you. Once he's near you, burn him down with everything you have (I personally had a half physical, half magical party so I just went to town on him with my mages' status effects while my physical units held the front line).

Once the wyrm pops up, he should be relatively close to death if not dead already, depending on how well you did. He tells you to fight together but just destroy him and his cronies, then take down the wyrm. My character never would have sided with him so it made sense for my party to not relent.
