Again, there's another spike in difficulty. One key thing here is using mounted melee units against siege units. They cross the ground faster, and Siege units take more damage in melee. Protect your own siege units from enemy troops.

"In the Name of Sigmar," you can ignore the optional objective, just go for the cleric. Before "Caves of the Dead," Make sure you have at least three empire heroes fully equipped. Focus on using your siege units in "Knives in the Night."

"Fortress of Decay," the last mission in Chapter 3, is brutal. I had to try many times. It's the hardest mission in the empire campaign. This is what I did, but if you have a good strategy, please post a comment. Before the battle, buy gunpowder barrels for all the units that can have them. Using your own siege unit, pull the troops in front of the gate. Send the battering ram and tower you acquire to the gate. They'll distract the enemy. Circle around with a couple of gunpowder barrel-carrying units, and blow a hole in the wall. If you've preserved a decent force, taking the castle from the inside is easy.

Chapter 4's missions are much easier. Rebuild your lost forces after Chapter 3, and carry on with the strategies that have taken you through the game. If you're short on the gold, the optional missions provide a lot.

The final battle is very easy, if you arrange your forces well during deployment. Select a group that includes at least two mounted melee units, two of the elvish siege unit, three ranged non-mounted units, and all four heroes, including at least one mounted hero. In the castle, leave two ranged units on the walls, the elven mage, and half to all of your siege units. Place the rest outside. Let the ally NPC forces take most of the early damage. Save your forces until an enemy siege unit or large creature appear. Send in your mounted units to deal with those threats, and then recall them. The ally NPC's will eventually die, leaving you to take their place. If you stop all siege units and large demons, the enemy will not breach the castle. Hold your units back until the enemy hero appears. Charge him, and start a duel with your strongest hero. You should have no trouble winning the duel. The battle will end soon after that.
