    ----------NOTE:-----------
Be aware this guide was written before a patch was done that changed the game's behaviors. I do not know the full extent of the changes, so I have not updated the guide outside of this note.

changes I do know have happened:

    - assist mode no longer disables achievements. this should make getting this and any other no hit achievements much, much easier.

    - supposedly the 'save state' system outlined in this guide has changed. I'm not 100% on the changes, but from what I'm told it still sort of works but you can no longer save scum your way to a no-hit victory.
    ---------------------------------

There's a trick to getting this and any other no-hit boss kill achievement.

Dead Cells has a sort of quick save/save state system. This is at any time you press cn_guide, the game will save at exactly that point wherever you are. The moment you die, this save feature is disabled so if you press cn_guide, dashboard, and quit the game you will continue off the last time you pressed cn_guide while alive. If you never did, you will restart at the very start of whatever level you made it to. This trick will allow you to retry for the no-hit achievement without having to restart from the beginning of the game.

note: if you get hit, you want to be completely DEAD before pressing cn_guide, or else you will create a save and void the achievement for that run.

2nd note: I'd highly suggest doing this with the I Like to Live Dangerously achievement (beat game with cursed sword).

This no-hit boss achievement is the hardest of the 4. The Hand of the King is very difficult and some of his attacks are very hard to dodge. The best suggestion is to overwhelm him with high offense.

obviously play on easiest difficulty, and at least upgrade the blacksmith's +, and ++ drop chances as high as they can go at least

    my recommended loadout:

every single upgrade scroll in the game should be spent on TACTICS (purple lightning bolt)

    Weapons:
    cursed sword
    multiple-nocks bow or explosive crossbow

    Traps:
    wolf trap
    double crossbow-o-matic

    Mutations:
    ammunition
    support
    (your choice)

If you're familiar with Hand of the King, you know his fight is broken up into 3 parts. In between these parts, he freezes and summons minions. The moment he gets stunned is a perfect opportunity to press cn_guide

if you have a decently leveled weapon and a very high tactics level, you can quickly beat Hand of the King down before he can even attack the first 2 phases. You have to be a little more careful on the 3rd since he has enough health he may pull off an attack or 2, and (as you likely know) his reach is insane and he's more prone to using the harder to dodge stuff at that point.

Archer SpenseThis guide was written before assist mode was added.
If assist mode doesn't disable achievements, and lets for lowering boss health, obviously yes it does.

FaSCoRPFYI: if one of the elite that HoTK spawns hits you, cheevo is voided too. You have to avoid damage from all of the enemies during the battle

TymanTheLongI got it today with assist mode on. Used a no boss cell run specifically. The cursed sword costs 150 now, be aware. The whole fight is amazingly fast like that, third phase dodge is usually where I’d die. He’s pretty predictable depending on where you land when the ice ledge collapses, so if you always land in the same spot you should usually know when and how to evade. I used a bow and traps, mutations have more options now, the one where enemies take damage over time for each arrow in them is great for this fight.
