This is the 1st of 3 missions in the Desert War – Axis Campaign. The Challenge mode itself isn't really hard, it’s getting the 3 stars unlocking it that’s the challenge.

Doctrine: unless coming back after earning stars, your choice doesn’t affect much, making any choice doable. Infantry doctrine helps on the early part of the mission, while armored or supply helps more at the end, especially with the Challenge mode handicap.

Tips: 1. Save often on your 3-star run. Even though the mission is short, there’s a good chance you’ll need to reload multiple times to get the right badges.
    2. Abandoning the fuel truck when not under attack can buy time to preposition or clear enemy forces.
    3. Keep the AA-trucks safe to counter the enemy bombers.
    4. Badges. When going for 3-stars attempt to earn as many badges as you can (you’ll need them).

Objective 1: Escort the fuel truck. You’ll gain troops at each fuel point to counter the growing attack strength.

Objective 2: Occupy the town. When you get close to the town a counter-attack will be triggered. Friendly forces attack from the south can cause the enemy counter-attack to split between yours and theirs.

I lost 1 Infantry and got the 3rd star on the very last Vehicle I killed so the badges are extremely important on getting enough points.
