How to unlock the The One Percent achievement

To unlock this specific achievement, you will need to have cumulatively earned 1e40 Gold across your adventures. If you are not using Scientific Notation, this will be about 10.0D - Big "D", for Duodecillion. You can somewhat check your progress in-game by going to the "Milestones" tab/menu, going to the "In-Progress" view, then looking at the gold milestone under "Clicks, Kills & Gold". When in range of this achievement, you should be working towards "Impressive Stash" for 99.9T (Tredecillion) gold. Lastly, it may or may not unlock while you are playing - I had to restart the game and load up before it went from 99% done to Achievement Unlocked.

Before going further, please note that Idle Champions is a game of multipliers upon multipliers, and gold-gaining is one of those many multipliers. When starting fresh, the monsters killed will give you a single gold piece each at area 1. This number increases based on various factors:
    1) The area you currently are in
    2) The amount of unspent Divine Favor you have banked for the god of a region
    3) Any bonus multipliers by champions currently in your formation, their skills, and equipment
    4) Any Blessings you have unlocked that affect gold drops
    5) Any potions you have active

#1 and #2 are the largest factors in getting to the point you can even get near the level of gold required for the achievements. #3 is somewhat useful, especially earlier on, but eventually you'll want to focus on damage boosts to let you get to a farther area, which could outpace whatever +gold % you would have earned on an earlier area. Also, the "Grand Tour" area only gives you space for 9 champions, which limits any multipliers for added damage potential. With "Tomb of Annihilation" or "Waterdeep", you get 10 spots which allows additional multipliers to boost your DPS champion.

You will eventually hit a 'wall' where the enemies' HP jumps up by 2x, then 4x, then massively more than you can output. It takes longer to buy enough levels on a hero to unlock the next upgrade to manage against their increased life, preventing you from getting to higher areas and slowing down your kill rate (which means less gold earned). You will then need to do a reset by
"Completing Your Adventure", which grants you banked Divine Favor. 1 Favor is +1%, so 100 favor will double your base gold, and 900 favor will increase your gold by a factor of 10x.

While resetting may seem painful, that Divine Favor is important, so get used to it. That 10x factor means you get a lot more gold early on, unlocking champions earlier and unlocking their upgrades sooner. If you can now afford 3 new upgrades, each giving your group +100% damage, you will actually do 8x the damage, which can let you get just a bit further to a higher area, earn gold more swiftly (a factor of 10x in this example), and earn more Divine Favor. Keep repeating, and you can push to higher amounts.

Additionally, whenever a Event or a Time Gate ends, you will be forced to convert the Divine Favor of those alternative Gods into Favor for the main areas. This favor is converted to a percentage of your current Favor for a main god - for example, if you had 1B Torm favor versus 100M Kelemvor favor, and you converted a good Event run, you could choose 800M Torm or 80M Kelemvor. If you did Kelemvor runs before event closure and got it up to 500M Kelemvor, the event would then convert to 400M Kelemvor favor, a gain of +320M on top of the 400M you worked for.

As a general example of where you may be to earn this achievement: After on-and-off grinding Events and unlocking characters, I worked on the "Tomb of Annihilation" quest lines and earned about 5 billion "Kelemvor" favor. Under the first Tier of Blessings for Kelemvor is "Golden Riches", which offers +200% goldfind. I ended up using Paultin (Event L4) in place of Jarlaxle because I was also using Strix (Event L11) and Nerys (Event L12) to help boost Strix as my core DPS (and then boost Nerys' Spiritual Weapon). At this point, I was able to reach around Area 265-270, and I was earning about 1U to 6U a kill. After letting it play for a while at this area, I slowly was earning % to the 10.0D I needed, so I just let it run and farmed the gold for this achievement. Enough that I got about 50B Divine Favor, around 10x what I previously had banked, once I finally reset my run. You may want more Favor - at 50B, Area 265 could be giving about 10U instead of just 1U, or you could farm at a lower area 260 which might be around 1U at that point.

Note that, as of around April 2019, there was a big balancing patch (The Base 12) that acted as a nerf for a few characters (Tyril especially) while becoming a major boost for others (Jarlaxle becomes both DPS and a greater gold-booster). This has changed the 'Meta' of the game as to which characters are 'OP' or not. This also means that there may be changes later, particularly for secondary characters (from events and from missions) which could also effect your general gameplay, whether for this achievement or for another.

The JokerWould you be able to show screenshots of your layouts/formations

BahaumautI've stopped playing, unfortunately. More importantly, I don't know if there have been additional patches that have done additional boosts/nerfs to certain heroes. And someone's formation may not work for another person because:
    1) An event character is not yet unlocked
    2) They are lacking good (blue/purple) equipment for characters in the given formation
    3) They don't have enough Divine Favor/bonuses to earn the gold needed to level up a hero for them to be useful (unlocking an ability/etc).

My greatest recommendation, as it is what I did, is to go to the Reddit channel for Idle Champions. They usually post a lot of info about the various events that can help you out, lots of guides and techniques, and most also will post screenshots of their formations as well. Given that the "meta" (the overarching design that guides how the character builds set up and interact) can change greatly with an update, an active community like the Reddit channel is your best bet for improving the design of your formation. You don't have to post or get an account, just look over what folks are saying to try and get an understanding about what works in today's version.

Netechmasome basic things you can do (as an amateur like myself) that I wish someone had told me sooner. (note that I have not gotten this achievement YET but I did 100% clicker heroes which is very similar)

•When experimenting with formation -check to see if your static DPS at the top was GREEN or RED. Green means the damage went up compared to how the champions were previously. Typically you want EVERYONE in your formation to buff ONE to TWO champions.

•Save dragonfire potions for when you haven't made progress for a long time -use them at the end of one of your runs WHILE holding down 'B' and all of your familiars clicking. The dragonfire damage is based on your HIGHEST damage dealer and not the entire parties damage.

•Save gems for familiars. There is nothing better to spend them on. You can spend them on chests for the chest related achievements later if needed but that shouldn't be necessary because chests are so common anyway.

•SUBSCRIBE to the subreddit for idle champions or bookmark it and check it weekly or even daily for FREE chest codes

Keep trying and good luck. Feel free to pm me for questions or help too.

Netechma*edit 9-18-20 since my last comment I have gone up from stage 200 to about 224ish with 23.8B torm and the gains in % have gone up dramatically from aprox 1% an hour a half to about 1% every half hour or so of being actively online. I am also using a firebreath potion a speed potion a gold potion and giants strength potion. my formation in order from front to back is Tyril, regis, krill, breunor, zorbu, caiti bree, jarxile, warden, and makos. (my justification for almost all of them is because they (most of them) have optimal gold find powers. zorbu and caitibree are my carries/dps and regis is set to range damage. I have all 5 auto clickers on click damage and I have the leveler option set to 'next upgrade' and rotate between each of them while doing other tabs or once every few minutes. with any luck ill have this today or tomorrow.

*update some time later and this is finally my last achievement to work on. -if you haven't invested in game gems (not real world money for me) on auto clickers in game that's your priority for now it's game changing and unparalleled. I am grinding about 1% per play session as a goal I am at or about stage 200 in a free run. You earn more gold online than idle. Open to any tips and fyi for frame of reference I was at 5% progress completed on this achievement by the time I got every other achievement... good luck

BahaumautIt's been forever since I played, either the web-based or the XBox One version. But the key is that, with Scientific Notation (number to the e-X), increasing X by +1 means ten times the effort. +2 is a hundred times. If it takes 1 day to go from 1e20 gold to 1e21, it will likewise take 10 days to get to 1e22. That timeframe can get shortened a bit by upgrading your heroes and skills, but in general you need some way of 'pushing' past your current wall to get to stronger enemies that drop more gold.

Though it is painful to start "over from the beginning", restarting your run and banking faith in the current area's goddess is generally what is needed to continue. Say you have a thousand faith points, and your current run would give you another thousand (to a total of 2,000). That should mean you get double the gold you currently get. If it takes you 1 day of leaving your box on to get to 1e20 gold (numbers not accurate, just used as an example), it would take 10 days to get to 1e21. But with doubling your gold income via the extra faith (unspent), once you get to 1e20, it should only take 5 days to get to 1e21. And if you bank more faith, it should give you even more gold, which should let you get past certain walls of upgrades for you heroes, which should then make your income even faster.

I also echo the goal of working on getting familiars rather than purchasing chests with gems. At least one is a godsend for clicking, and more help out. You can even set them to randomly fire off ultimate abilities, which can help when you've got the game running but aren't actively playing it.

Epsilon ThetaQuick note, not sure if this affects everyone. I had completed the current event (Gond favour) and was thinking I might as well go for "Split The Party". Supposedly it is very hard and you can't use any favour to increase your gold drops. Turns out, there is a bug. Not only don't you have so swap out your characters (you can drop them back in when they are removed, even though the portrait stays grayed out), as soon as I had any gold yield hero (Jarlaxe) in there, I got tons of gold. Even though the yield showed as +300%, I got tons of gold. By the time I was hitting zone 50, I had already gotten way past 1e40 and was dropping more than e44 per kill. I'd be happy if someone could recreate this. A few additional bits of information; my Gond favor was about e10. For Torm and Kelemvor (1st and 2nd deities), I had e7 and e8 favor lying around. To me it seemed like all of those counted. But could also easily just have been their blessings. Not sure but worth a try.

Ericmax69The post-event "Split the Party" glitch worked for me too. I had Makos (Dark Luck) as my gold multiplier. Struggled to get started, but once I had a few champions out, it was plain sailing. When the restriction removed a character, I swapped another one in from the same slot. Achievement popped around about when I got to Area 50

ZatosanI am just adding to the previous two comments about the "Split the Party" mission. I couldn't put removed champions back in, but I could switch to other champions in that slot. I only had trouble with money for the first couple of levels. Once I was able to recruit Jarlaxe, I noticed the gold coming in very quickly. This continued, and I even lost Jarlaxe, but still had some other champions to get gold for me (Baeloth and Makos, for example). I ended up getting the achievement on level 50 itself. That means, based on the previous comments, that I wasn't very efficient in my gold gathering. But, that also means folks should have little trouble getting the achievement on "Split the Party".

AusticharHoly crap this new event character Valentine just gives insane gold amounts (well for a newbie like me) Jumped from an average e34 to up to e39 in just one adventure after putting her in my formation.
