to get this achievement you need to unlock all the gateway nodes (does not include the gateway engines at the center of the planet)

    Things needed...

    Large shuttle
    4 medium storages
    1 large storage
    1 large platform B
    32 small batteries
    1 RTG
A lot of packagers (at least 34, but probs more because you will mess something up at some point)

How you do this the easy way is to orbit around each planet landing at the closest zone nearest to each of the gateway nodes.

    Example...

I find a close landing spot to one of the gateway nodes. I find/remember which direction I need to go and I pick up and drop the entire shuttle as I head for the gateway node. Once I am there I unpack the large platform B and connect it to the gateway node. After that I bring over the large storage (which has 4 medium storages on it, and 8 small batteries on each medium storage) to unlock the gateway node. Once the gateway is activated you pack up your large platform B and put it back on the shuttle, put your large storage battery bank back on the shuttle and Take off. Then look for the next closest landing zone and repeat.

If you have the rtg in the little side compartment it will charge the battery bank. By the time you get to the next gateway node your battery bank will be recharged.

This will work for 32 of the gateway nodes as 2 on Atrox are semi burried (you will need at least a tier 2 drill head to dig it out) the process is the same to unlock the gateway nodes.

Have fun getting this achievement, it’s definitely a process.....

There are 6 gateway nodes on each planet and 2 gateway nodes on each moon. There is always a gateway node at the north and south poles, and4 gateway nodes around the equators of each main planet.

Now understand that you don’t need 32 amps of power (aka 32 batteries) to unlock the gateway nodes on each planet, but you will need 32 by the time you get to Atrox so it’s best to get them all ready and prepped before you begin this journey.

JWPeacemakerThere are only two left in Atrox. How am I supposed to find this?

Edit: There is no "buried" gateway. ALL emit a light signal that can be seen in the distance. What makes Atrox more difficult is that the clouds often prevent you from seeing such light. Take it easy you will surely find it.

    It's finally over!

Look at ye painI have to wait for the batteries to charge wen I get to one any way to fix that?

packetloss XAs pointed out by the other guides the game has evolved a lot.

Astroneer has really grown out of the dark ages from 3-4 years ago, Quality of life is amazing now. Of all of the additions and improvements the one most relevant to this achievement is the Compass and the fact gateways are now shown on it. One is shown and once you power it up it changes icons and the next is shown, taking all of the guess work and getting lost out of getting this done.

Planet - Gateways - Power Required (2023 edition)
    Sylva - 6 - 5U/s
    Desolo - 2 - 8U/s
    Calidor - 6 - 12U/s
    Vesania - 6 - 16U/s
    Novus - 2 - 21U/s
    Glacio - 6 - 26U/s
    Atrox - 6 - 30U/s

    My Gateway Rig
    - For Glacio and Atrox, all others downsize
    2 Large Rover
    1 Rover seat
    1 Paver
    1 Drill
    3 Large Storage
4 Soil Canisters (Only 1 required - yet sky bridges on Atorx is so much faster)
    3 RTG's (4U/s) (Only 1 required, Overkill, I like charged batteries)
    6 Medium Batteries(5U/s) [30U/s] (Atrox)

    Process
Dig and pave your way from your base to the first Gateway.
Back your rig up to the power port, connect it directly and once powered roll out.
Once powered the next gateway will pop up on radar. Head straight to it.
When you are done you have a nice highway connecting your base to all gateways.
Perfect for riding your hoverboard (OP item get that questline done asap) safely around the planet or a path to build a railway network (amazing for your automation and logistics needs).

    Achievement
Once you power all 34 gateways the achievement will pop.

Since the Groundwork update (october 2019), this achievement becomes a lot faster to get thanks to the paver tool.

Build a large rover with :
    - Rover seat
    - 2 large storages
    - Drill strenght 3
    - Paver
    - Medium canister
    - Up to 8 RTG (8 required for Atrox, other planets needs less)

The combination of drill, paver and canister can make the travel around a planet a lot easier since it will create large roads to go. Just ensure that you keep enought soil in the canister when you create roads above craters (the circle visible on the screen is useful to know how much you have).

On planets, once you found one of the equator gateway chamber, use the compass to go straight to the east or west and you will easily find the 3 others. 2 more gateway chambers are located at the north and south poles, so are easy to find using the compass.
On moons, you only have to find 2 chambers, the second being at the opposing side of the first one.
You can see them from far away thanks to the blue light beam above each one. When you see one, go into that direction.
Once you reach a gateway chamber, remove the two tools at the front of the rover and plug it to the chamber (move it just next to the plug or use extenders), it will deliver enough power.

Here is a video of the use of drill/paver and gateway chamber activation :

rockerdude2This is by far the best method since the update described above. Don't waste your time orbiting each planet and walking to each node. The paver is easily the most useful tool in the whole game when combined with a rover and drill.

IReIoadedFor Atrox, I attempted bringing 24 batteries and 2 RTGs. After plugging in my rover to the gateway, there wasn't enough power to start it. I ended up having to craft a couple medium platforms to plug the RTGs into the 2 other slots to split up where the power was coming from and that worked.

OJLeanIf I have a a friend in my world and they help me power some gateways. Will I still get the achievement?

My approach to solve this achievement was to create a mobile power convoy setup.

For Sylva, Desolo & Calidor use
I built a large shuttle and stocked it with:
    1 tractor
    1 medium rover
    2 medium battery
    1 small solar panel
    1 small wind turbine
    5 small batteries
    1 medium storage
    2+ packagers or graphite

This setup allows for a user to fly above the planet and monitor for landing spots near gateways that have yet to be opened. You can pack more for the trip to help out if you package everything into its smallest forms. Note: Be aware of your rocket fuel levels during all this. Various planets will increasingly require more power generators or batteries to reach required power input. Check table listed at bottom of guide.

Land, unpack all the gear and set out to travel w/ the convoy setup. Place a small solar panel and small wind turbine on the front of your tractor as it should keep the vehicle powered all the time. Have the medium batteries unpacked on the medium rover so they charge while in transit. Once you reach a gateway plug the convoy in from the back end of the rover. When I needed extra power I would search the surrounding area for compound to create small generators and then organics for fuel.

    Power Generation Output:
    https://astroneer.gamepedia.com/Power
    Medium Battery = 3A
    Small Battery = 1A
    Small Generator = 1A
    Medium Rover = 1A
    Small Wind Turbine = .5A
    Small Solar Panel = .5A

With the equipment brought we can generate
    2 med Battery = 6A
    5 sml Battery = 5A
    1 med Rover = 1A
    ----------------------------
    12A

Once a gateway is solved, you can continue to roam the surface for more. Following the grid lines of the linked portals for fastest route. Otherwise, drive back to the shuttle, use the packager to pack up items and strap the shuttle for another launch and look in the sky to see where to land next.

This setup will work on every planet, however you will have to adjust for power requirements. You can use large rovers to carry more but they are slow moving and cumbersome on rough terrain. You will have to adjust the caravan load to accommodate the power requirements for each planet gateway listed below. Novus, Glacio, & Atrox require an atrocious amount of power.

I recommend use of the RTG if you can have it made.
    RTG = 4A

This is the highest power output device in game currently

Here is a chart from the Astroneer wiki
    https://astroneer.gamepedia.com/Gateway_Chamber

Planet | Chambers | Amps Required
    Sylva | 6 chambers | 5A
    Desolo | 2 chambers| 8A
    Calidor | 6 chambers | 12A
    Vesania | 6 chambers | 16A
    Novus | 2 chambers | 21A
    Glacio | 6 chambers | 26A
    Atrox | 6 chambers | 30 A

IckyIcemanMy strategy has been a little different I literally carry everything I need to make a landing pad (AL, 2 cermaic, Med platform, med printer) and a beacon. I walk/run to the gateway from my shuttle. I then plant a beacon build the landing pad and die... I then respawn at the shuttle and launch and land at the new pad. In my shuttle I have a large storage with med storages with small batteries (24 small batteries and an RTG), I build a large platform for the large storage (resin stored in shuttle as well, using the med printer). On Atrox (30 power needed) I bring an extra RTG in the shuttle. This needs a lot of resources, but I hate driving the rovers.

FshguyI used a similar strategy to IckyIceman... Getting those small batteries are the most efficient in storage with a Medium Storage. I used two RTG to keep things charged. Rover driving is just too challenging with terrain change and too many chances to fall into a deep cave.
