Since you have to get in pretty close to use this weapon, I recommend using Stasis to hold your victims in place while you grind up their limbs by running the blade back and forth across them. (Controlling the blade takes a bit of getting used to, as it shoots out about five feet in front of you and then just spins there.) As an added bonus, if you can manage to herd a group of enemies into close quarters, it's entirely likely that you'll kill more than one of them with a single blade by working it back and forth across the group. (Why doesn't every game have a gun like this?)

Note that because the blade does damage by the second, I avoided the secondary fire at all costs, since shooting it is the equivalent of only one second's worth of damage (as opposed to the several seconds you get with the primary fire).

i initially did my first playthrough with just the plasma cutter for

Dead SpaceOne GunThe One Gun achievement in Dead Space worth 80 pointsBeat the game using only the Plasma Cutter

and as such used a seperate save slot for the begining of each level for when i went for the weapons achievemnets. if you did too or have a save near level 12 then try the following...........

start level 12 - the building you go into on the left has a store and bench. sell everything you own except your med packs, ripper and ripper ammo. buy more ammo for the ripper and nodes to upgrade it using the bench. now start working your way through the level using the ripper and eventually you will come across 2 tentacle-wall-things. by this point you will probably have about 20-25 kills anyway so just kill a few of the constantly spawning bastards and 'pop' goes the achievment!

i used a combination of primary and secondary fire ( you fire the saw blade) modes. when the yellow-arm-sack people show up you definately want to keep them at distance!

you can use this method for all the other weapon 'cheeves. it, for me, seemed like the least hassle per enemy as there are loads of them in a short period of time!

I found a dead easy way to get this and most of the other weapon achievements

At the start of chapter 5 go to the store and buy the gun which you want the achievement for and lots of ammo.

Right at the start of the mission you will encounter an enemy which spits little enemys out of its tummy, keep an killing these little enemies to get the achievement.
