The achievement requires that one must get a perfect rating on each song in 5 button mode, which is done on each song by getting the 'great' rating on every note in a song in the same run. If you hit all greats in a song, the score will be 100,000.

This is about the hardest achievement I have done, and that's no lie. You know the achievement requiring 90% or better on all songs in Boom Boom Rocket? This is like that, but the requirement is 100%. It is an excellent comparison because the timing window for a perfect hit between the two games is very similar.

There are a couple things I remember about this achievement. One, the timing window is not the same on every song. This might sound like some sort of myth or superstition, but I promise you that as someone who's done the achievement, I can say it's true. The songs with the more complicated note charts are much MUCH easier to hit perfects on. It's for this reason that the last two songs I perfected--the ones rated as the most difficult--literally took me less than two hours a piece after I started seriously trying. This maybe isn't a groundbreaking tip, but it's better than nothing... If you want to knock out a few songs to boost your confidence a bit, go for the last few in the song list. They're easier.

The only real piece of advice I can think to give is something some of the old time Guitar Hero players might recognize. That is: the towel trick. What is the towel trick, you ask? The towel trick is hanging a towel over the top portion of the TV screen and covering up at least half of the top of the note chart. Any given moment, there are several notes on the screen, but what you really need to look at is the note you are about to hit and how close it is to the strike line. Think of it like those trick math problems they used to throw at you in middle school math class, the ones with some useless pieces of information that you don't actually need to solve the problem. The notes you're covering up are the useless information, and in a game of timing and concentration, useless information is worse than useless, it will make the task more difficult.

One last tip: buy an energy drink. They do allow you to concentrate more acutely, if only a little bit. But with a task such as this, a little is a lot. Make sure you're well rested and sober, give yourself a boost corn sugar and caffeine, and go for it. It'll take patience. You will get frustrated and you will want to break something. I suggest setting tentative goal of one song completed per session. Play it seriously for three to five hours, then stop. If you start to lose steam, give it up and try again another day. It's a test of concentration and determination, and you will feel really goddam awesome about yourself once you get it done.

LUCK!
