How to unlock the BR146: Tour Guide achievement

    1. Start any service with the 146.2 train.
    2. Put the reverser to neutral and open the doors.
    3. Wait for the Load Passengers circle to fill about 75% of the way and pause and Save
    4. Let the ring fill the rest of the way and close the doors so that it says Objective Complete and quit to the main menu after.
    5. Select Last Played from the main menu and keep repeating steps 4 and 5 until the achievement pops.

    The tracker does not work for this achievement so you will have to keep track manually if you want to know how many you've done and how close you are to 146.

    darkrealmslordThere's little point grinding this cheevo out with this solution when you can pair this cheevo with the making tracks one because there's no way to shortcut having to drive this loco 1462 km. You'll most likely have either got this one or be very close by the time the making tracks cheevo pops!

    erod550Actually there is a way to shortcut the distance, at least compared to doing entire routes. For the distance achievement I load up a save right before a long stretch where I can leave the train running at max speed for 5-10 minutes without touching it and then just keep reloading that save. Much faster than trying to do manual stops where you're averaging a much lower speed with all the stopping and starting. And if you have a Cronus Max then it's even easier because you can automate the save reloads.

    erod550Really any service that has a spot where you ran run for 5-10 min at a time at close to the train's max speed without the speed limit dropping. Just save once you get to max speed and then once you hit the lower speed limit just pause and reload the save so you can just keep going at max speed.

    WhoIsJohn117The doors on this train take a while to close, so I saved after selecting the doors closed after boarding was complete. Loaded it from Last Played multiple times, and didn't have to do anything to finish the service except wait for the doors to finish closing. I was skeptical if it would work, but it popped for me this way. (I had already finished the mileage.)
