The achievement is unlocked when you summon Ifrit ten times in the game.
At the beginning of chapter 3, you receive a tutorial on how to summon Ifrit. When two bars of the three-bar tech bar are filled up, you press
and the up on the D-pad
labeled Firaga. Ifrit appears with a Firaga attack and fights alongside Ardyn for a while.
Following the tutorial you receive a challenge to summon Ifrit. You have a certain amount of time to follow the tutorial's instructions in order to execute a successful strategy. It is not difficult because the tech bar is already charged. So, all you have to do is press
If you do this within the required time, you receive a 'success' notification. Whereas you must receive the success notification as part of an A+ ranking for successful strategies, you are not required to receive it for this achievement. The only condition for unlocking this achievement is by summoning Ifrit.
After the tutorial, you have the ability to spend AP points and acquire a second Ifrit summon, Meteor Strike. This is a more powerful summon and requires all three bars of the tech bar to be filled. It is executed by first pressing
followed by left on the D-pad
. Both summons, Firaga and Meteor Strike count towards the achievement.
You do not need to grind the achievement. There are seven amplifiers that must be neutralized. The fight at each amplifier is greatly assisted by an Ifrit summon. Reinforcements arrive at several of the amplifiers and a second summon facilitates success. After all amplifiers are neutralized, a series of fights occurs before the castle gate. Summoning Ifrit one or more times during these fights is an effective approach. Finally, there are two bosses. Summoning Ifrit one or more times during each boss fight is effective. In other words, you will have at least 15 opportunities where victory is facilitated with Ifrit summons.
