How to unlock the You Can't Touch This achievement

  Save up some shields and bombs, maybe 10 of each. Then play the first mission keeping yourself shielded at all times.
  
  Once you reach the boss, keep using the bombs until he is beat. You can get hit when the shield is active, you just can’t lose a life for this achievement.

  For anyone still having issues just know that you can gather as many shields and bombs as you want. Just keep collecting and you feel comfortable with the amount you have. Bombs also don’t seem to count as an enemy killed during the stage so you actually have to shoot down the appropriate amount. Can anyone confirm this or is it just a bug for me?

  I can confirm bombs don’t count as kills, you actually have to shoot the enemies for the kills to count.
