How to unlock the Res Publica achievement

    This can be boosted with a friend.

    Set-up a lobby with the following:
    Lobby Type: Public (can be set to invite - but the windows 10 invite system is glitchy)
    Region: Not important
    Game Mode: Death Match
    Players: 1v1
    Under Settings
    Map Type: Hill Country
    Map Size: Tiny
    Reveal Map: All Visible
    Starting Age: Post-Iron Age
    Victory Type: Standard
    Speed: Very Fast
    Under Extra Settings
    Tick the following boxes: Team Together, Full Tech Tree & Lock Teams

    Important!
    The game needs to be a minimum of 5 minutes long.
    You can check how long the game has gone on for by pressing: F11
    Game time will be at the top right of the screen.
    (If very fast is enabled this will be less than real time played, in-game time is what counts)

    best method seems to be villager rush.

    player who is to win builds 1 house and then recruits a further 5 villagers (fills the pop. limit to 8/8) then attack the other player.

    It is best to not recruit any more and just finish the game with the 8 villagers.
    This is due to the achievement being slightly time locked in-game, winning to quick will not pop the achievement.

    You can get this very easily by using a second user on your PC. Switch to the second user, log in to the store through your main account and install Age of Empires (should install instantly). After that, just switch between accounts as you need to.

    If you're having issues, DunnyWT suggests clicking "No" when the Microsoft Store Package Dependency Installer admin prompt comes up.

    If that doesn't help, I suggest looking through the comments.

    CheshireMulishaWorked fine for me (Game pass version)
    Rather than try to re-install the game from the store I just copied the shortcut to my C: drive for my 2nd account to launch from.
    Originally I got the license error but I just closed down the game (both profiles) and logged my 2nd account out and back in again. Re-launched the game and it launched on both profiles.

    If you do run into errors try closing down, logging off and switching which account launches the game 1st etc. It should eventually work.
