I initially thought this would be a much longer grind, but then I found a method of gaining waves very quickly. Partial credit for this method goes to GtechApocalypse and their Solution for Endless Summer in Gears POP!. I took that idea and expanded it by using the method described below.

You will need two devices able to run Gears POP! I used my PC and my iPhone, with my main account logged into my PC and a local account logged into my phone.

First, on your main account, create a Crew with a unique name that no one would ever search for or join randomly. This will cost you 1000 silver coins.

Then, on your second device, create a new local account. New accounts have the same setup each time:
1. Tutorial match
2. Asking if you want to log into Xbox Live. Select "No thanks" and then "Proceed" to accept the default name of "New Recruit" (no need to give it a custom name, it just wastes time).
3. Giving you a single loot box containing a few Pins and 5000+ silver coins

With your new silver coin stash, head over to the store. There will always be two things you can immediately buy from the store with silver coins: 1 stash of 50x Pins for 200 coins and 1 stash of 10x Pins for 800 coins. Buy them both.

Upgrade all of your newly obtained Pins and you should gain just enough player (account) experience to increase your player to Level 2, which means you can now join Crews for Horde. Search for and join the Crew you created earlier with your main account.

For joining your first Crew, your local account is awarded a 3-wave Horde Thumper. Now, simply play Horde mode with yourself! After completing this Thumper, your local account is then awarded two more 2-wave Thumpers, so complete them as well for a total of 7 waves and some rewards to boot! The rewards are usually 80 silver coins, 10x Savage Grenadier, and 25x Frag Grenades for the first 3-wave Thumper and 300 silver coins per 2-wave Thumper, assuming you do not fail or disconnect from Horde.

After all this, with your local account on your second device, leave the Crew (it is okay if you forget this step, but it just helps keep the Crew cleaner), and then go to settings and choose Delete Account.

After successfully deleting the account, there will be a button to create a new account. Click it to be taken to the tutorial again. Rinse and repeat, as necessary, all of the steps that involve a local account on a second device until you complete 250 waves, or 500 waves for Endless Summer, or if you are going for Seriously POP!, continue until you reach 1000 waves.

You can use the in-game achievement tracker for the Endless Summer achievement to keep up with how many waves you have completed.

Finally, I will mention that total Horde wave count in this game seems to be glitched in a positive direction for gamers. I was keeping track of my count of Horde waves coming into the 500 wave achievement, and I definitely did not get a full 500 before the achievement unlocked. From what I can tell, if you have a disconnect during Horde and get the "Abandoned" screen, something happens that "ticks" a few more Horde waves than is possible, but you'll only be credited these "ghost waves" after you restart the game. It was really weird. Also, I started manually counting off the additional 500 horde waves to get to 1000 for the Seriously POP! achievement and, by my count, I was somewhere in the 440 range. I only know this because this was my last requirement.
