The 3 difficulty achievements are stackable so you will want to beat Hard quest mode with all 8 characters. I just beat Hard mode and I unlocked all 3 difficulty achievements at the same time.

In order to beat Hard difficulty you will need to max out your salvage points for your car so you will be strong enough to survive. So here is what I did to save as much time as possible with this game.

    1st)
Create a custom match on easy difficulty with kill limit set to 7 kills needed to win. Then choose whichever car you will be going for first. Make all 7 enemy vehicles the Leprachan because it is the weakest car and will die quickly. Also, choose a stage to play on that you do not have 20/20 alien artifacts, so this way you will be working on that achievement also because you will find alien artifacts from blowing the environment up. I suggest picking the Oil Fields first because the layout is very good to harvest your salvage points. Now just start blowing up Leprachans to get 6 salvage points for wrecking them or 8 for totalling them. Also, a whammy will get you 2 salvage points. Mosts cars will take anywhere between 4-8 rounds of custom matches before you have 200/200 salvage points.

    2nd)
NOW, as soon as your first car has maxed out it salvage points go into quest mode HARD and beat the 3 rounds for that car. THEN, choose another car and go back to custom match and harvest 200 salvage points for your 2nd car. The reason I say this is because while you are harvesting salvage points for a car you will start to learn strategies that work with the car because each car is different. SO, before you start collecting salvage points for another car, you should beat the HARD quest for the car. You will never be better with a car then immediately after you get 200 salvage points since you have just played 4-8 matches with that car. No point in getting salvage points for other cars because you will lose or forget the skills you have learned with that car. So, basically you 1) pick a car 2) play custom matches until you have 200 salvage points 3) beat hard quest mode 4) choose 2nd car and repeat process until all 8 cars are finished.

    3rd)
Now that you have finished the process with all 8 cars, you will now have all 3 difficulty achievements and the salvage achievement. You may even very well have every achievement at this point except the xbox live achievements and the alien artifacts. So, go into free wheeling mode for any of the 5 stages that you do not have 20/20 alien artifacts. There is not a guide I know of for this, but if you blow every single thing up you should find them all. And, since free wheeling mode has no enemies and no time limit you can just keep looking as long as you need.

Just finished this on hard last night so thought I would add a few tips here for anyone struggling.

First of all don't try and do this straight away. For a start you will need to upgrade your salvage levels on all your vehicles so you might as well do that first. If you want to get a feel for the campaign do it on medium but you will be doing it all again anyway so its up to you if you want to repeat yourself.

As for the actual campaign, my best advice is try and use hit and run and long range tactics. Mortars specifically are your greatest weapon. If you use the combo down-down-up (fire machine gun) you will fire 4 mortars making a firestarter. This is a powerful attack that will set enemies on fire if it connects close enough to them.

I spent the majority of the campaign just driving around away from enemies looking for mortars. The only time you want to move in for some close up damage is when you have a shield. Shields are extremely useful and shouldn't be wasted. For example, if you spot a shield but there are no enemies about, wait by it until they are closer before collecting it. You don't want to waste half of the shields time driving to the enemy.

Radar evasion and damage multipliers are also both useful but i wouldn't say either are a priority.

When you are going in for some close up damage, try and make use of the some of the combos. For example, the cannons buckshot fires six at once and is absolutely devastating. (Up-Up-Down-Fire Machine Gun). The Bullseye Rocket's Stampede special is equally devastating as it fires 5 rockets at ones (Up-Down-Up-Fire Machine Gun) Combine this with the right special, such as on that does continual damage like Beeswax, Boogie etc and you can take half an enemies health off or more in one attack, a few wammies really pile on the damage. As soon as your shield starts to flash get out of the area as soon as possible. Continue searching for weapons. Cannons and rockets are the most effective close up weapons, missiles are ok but are best used from a distance. If you get a good vantage point, such as the top of the ski resort or dam, and your enemies are below you, park on a ledge and fire the missiles as quickly as possible, your should get some solid hits.

For the boss rounds, when your last enemy before the boss is low on health try and stock up on mortars, get 36 if you can.

The physics engine in the game is terrible, especially for the smaller cars, just firing a mortar can send your car spinning out. Its annoying but you just have to try your best to deal with it.

Finally, keep your health topped up, if it gets down to around 50-70%, make looking for a spanner a priority, try and remember where they are on the level. They will respawn but I think its only a limited number of times.

If your are stuck on a specific level PM me and will try and give you some advice.

This game has got 'removal from marketplace' written all over it so try and get the online achievement as soon as possible while the servers are still up.
