If you miss a jump and know that you are going to fall to your death, you can quickly pause the game and return to the main menu. Choose continue and you will start at the last checkpoint. This is how I got the achievement on my first run through the level. There were a couple spots where I jumped badly and used this method. Just be sure to quit to the menu before you actually die

skittlebizI think I used this method. At the point with the two mushrooms and pulling the island over, I fell on the third half-mushroom on the edge of the pulled-over island. I think I hit pause in time and restarted at last checkpoint. I wasn't sure if I got it in time. so I kept trying to restart the WHOLE level. The game wouldn't let me go back to Limbo to fully restart - it kept starting me back at the previous checkpoint. So I decided to just finish the level and get back to Limbo that way. I just finished and popped the Gravity Master achievement. So this checkpoint trick really works, as I had used it previous to this description once as well when I fell into nothingness.

TymanTheLongI used the Pause trick and just dashboarded and did a full restart. There’s a jump between air currents at the end that’s super easy to miss so just pause anyway to be sure you landed (or are about to land) right into the next current.
