How to unlock the In the belly of the beast achievement

*The raid function is now live, having been added to live in the game from 28 November 2019. It seems that the raid will rotate, being replaced from time to time with a new one - but please bear in mind that this guide is written as if for the first one released*

In Erewohn, talk to Jericho, the female scientist character.

She sits at a desk under a purple icon that says “Raids”.

There is a bunch of optional dialogue about SkellTech’s drone capabilities - feel free to skip that.

Select the top purple option “Enter the raid”, and Jericho will tell you about a super powerful weapon project on Golem Island, called Project Titan.

Golem Island is the cloud covered landmass near the top/right of the map. Before release of the raid, if you tried to get to it by helicopter or swimming, you were attacked and killed by a drone swarm - but it’s now reachable for the raid.

Once the dialogue finishes, you’ll be given the option to pin a new mission “Golem Island”.

The first requirement for this is to “Reach Gear Level 150”. Gear level is an average score of all the values of the kit you carry in game in your loadout.

The achievement is for entering the raid, not completing it - hence no solution here to tackling the raid itself.

Softandfluffy adds: “Once you get to the bunker, all 4 players must touch an “obelisk” and hold x to actually enter the raid. The achievement will pop sometime during the cutscene.”

    ——

To find a raid, in match made multiplayer, rather than having to organise a session, do the following:

Go to the multiplayer search tab (the glowing four-man icon on the in game menu, NOT the raid objective / Jericho), and there will be an option to filter players you want to be matched to based on what you want to play - anything, main mission, side missions, etc, and crucially here... raids.

Do that, hit find, and you’ll be out into a public match if there are players available.

UltimateTT66Thanks. Glad it worked. I’ll add to the main solution

Drazer76What’s the quickest way to gear 150 to get in the raid.
    Currently only 125..
It’s a long process slowly finding items to average it up?

UltimateTT66It's a grind - the only way is to keep equipping higher grade equipment when you get it (either in drops, boxes, or buying from the shop).

Then higher the grade equipment equipped, the higher the grade of the equipment you will find - and so on, and so on, until you reach L150.

That has the disadvantage in game play, that you have to keep changing weapons and clothes (thereby suffering detriment for clothing perks, weapons mark and perks, swapping weapon type, etc).

Drazer76Well not played for a while but got to 130 last time I posted.
Tonight in half an hour of behemoth hunting I’m up to 134.
    So slowly getting there.

Problem is I will get to 150, then I need to try to even find 7 players to enter the raid, which people had been struggling to find or something..

UltimateTT66Try the in game matchmaking, or set up a boosting session on here. It should be (or at least used to be) only 4 in total needed to set up a match yourself. I managed to find matches in the online matchmaking relatively easily - but that was back in the summer, so not sure how active the game is now.

lightshadow1975Followed guide from original post (multiplayer part) found me players and popped before even loading! Awesome Thanks a lot 👍

[edit] did then kick me out to Erewhon and said raids weren’t available but achievement stayed

Brave TanukiGreat solution! If anyone is wondering, you should not have to set up a boosting session to earn this achievement. As of December 2023, public matchmaking is still a viable option; it took twenty minutes or so, but I was able to form a squad and enter the raid, all without using any form of voice or text communication.
