The shortest and easiest one is most likely Ellie’s. After you’ve recruited her and taken her on a few missions, she’ll be standing by the Unreliables’ exit ramp and will say “can we talk” when she sees you. She’ll want to go see her parents on Byzantium, so take her there and meet her parents. After the lengthy discussion with her parents, you’ll go outside and talk more then go to a location in Byzantium.

Once you discover that location it will lead you off planet. Go there then out of the landing area and towards the marker. Keep a powerful weapon up as this area is filled with large amounts of Outlaws, Rapitdons and Raptidons that spit acid. Fight through, take cover as much as possible while trying to protect your allies, watch out for the pools of acid as the effects linger.

Once you’re through and not dead and have gotten to the area it’s a short walk to the building you need. You’ll either have three options; intimidate, hack the computer in the back or bribe. It’ll be a short conversation and once you’ve completed it before Ellie talks to you thanking you in her own way, the achievement will pop

Personally, I finished Vicar Max's quest first. It was certainly one of the easiest. considering that the second part involves no combat (if you sneak past the occasional group of marauders or critters). It can be completed as soon as you reach Scylla.

The Illustrated Manual quest will have you search the home of a collector in a small community north of Edgewater. You will then go to a cave to retrieve his book. When you return the book to Max he will join your party.

The Empty Man will be a little longer, but still straightforward. You will need to retrieve a data cartridge from a security terminal on the Groundbreaker, within in a Restricted Area. You will then search for Reginald Chaney in Fallbrook on Monarch, and the visit a Hermit on Scylla. You will then join Max to perform a strange ritual. Afterwards, speak one last time to Max to unlock the achievement.

The achievement unlocks after the satisfactory completion of a companion’s entire questline AFTER the companion is recruited. The earliest an entire questline can be completed is after leaving Groundbreaker. Note that SAM only has a recruitment quest: The Cleaning Machine. Since he has no quests after recruiting him, he does not count towards the achievement. The achievement will pop once the first of the following five questlines is completed:
    • Parvati: Drinking Sapphire Wine & Don't Bite The Sun
    • Vicar Max: The Illustrated Manual & The Empty Man
    • Felix: Friendship’s Due
    • Ellie: Worst Contact & The Low Crusade
    • Nyoka: Passion Pills & Star-Crossed Troopers
Ellie’s questline is probably the simplest although the complexity of the questlines varies depending on whether one is on the Halcyon Path or the Phineas Path. Ellie is recruited on Groundbreaker by completing Worst Contact. The Low Crusade begins in Byzantium and is concluded on Monarch.

Both segments are dialog related which is why Ellie’s questline can be considered the simplest. The quickest way to complete the quest is to pass an intimidate skill check (in the 30-40 range) with the insurance agent in Fallbrook on Monarch. Taking SAM or Vicar Max along with Ellie will boost your Intimidate skill as will wearing armor &/or helmet that confers a dialog skills or intimidate bonus. Talk to Ellie after the insurance agent acquiesces to complete the questline. If this is the first companion questline completed, the achievement will pop.
