Like others, this was a tougher par score—personally, the hardest in the game, since for the others I could just blitz through things on Normal with a handful of skulls and be fine. Basically, if you die more than once you probably won't have the chance to get par score because you'll reset your killing streak and you'll lose precious time; if you aren't finishing this mission under par time or a minute or two after, you probably won't get it. You better be used to landing headshots, because that's the only way to speed things up (and get useful medal point multipliers) to make this achievement happen easily.

I ended up setting the difficulty to heroic, with Famine and Fog on. If you want some more cushion points-wise, you can set Iron, but that will depend on how confident you are. Like I said, death is a pretty tough obstacle to this mission, so if you die, especially early in the mission, I think you're better off restarting anyhow. So go ahead, turn on Iron. Do you feel lucky?

At the beginning, clear out the enemies and rush the Scorpion. Use it to smash everything up to the tyrant guns. Once you've cleared the cluster of jackals and the pair of Banshees that swoop down on you, make your way to each AA gun, only pausing to kill Grunts that are immediately in your way; forget about the Elites on the upper levels. Grab a plasma pistol while you're here. Once each is destroyed, beeline back to your Scorpion and hoof it along, blowing up any air enemies when you don't have a ground target to hit. The key for the next area is to be efficient; wasted shots slow you down and open you up to easy deaths. In the next area, kill the fuel rod grunts on the platform, then the Ghosts. In the area outside the Sword base gate, you have two fuel rod turrets, two plasma turrets, and two Revenants to snipe; if you move fast the Falcons will likely still be alive drawing fire and making it easy to spot the turrets. Once these obstacles are dead, run to the entrance to sword base. Kill any Banshees in the air on the way; these will give you some nice cushion points. Since you have a plasma pistol, you can noob combo the Elites in your way, headshot the Grunts on the turrets, and proceed to the service corridor.

In the service area, your goal is to prepare for the final stand defending Halsey's lab, and the easiest way to speed it up is to have lots of needler and needle rifle ammo. As such, loot both from the Jackals as you make your way up the stairwell. When you reach the multiplayer map portion of Sword Base with the stealth Elites, switch to a plasma pistol or repeater and DMR from the nearby crate to conserve your needle rifle ammo while you kill these guys, then retrieve those weapons and push through once the enemies are thinned.

On separate run-throughs, I had between 60 and 70K points going into this final section, which meant I had some cushion in case I ran out of par time. My strategy for here was to arm the A, B, and C turrets only; you want the enemies from at least one direction (D) to come towards you faster to clear waves. A riskier strategy that I employed for more points was to rush towards the Phantom across the bridge over by A and B; you can get a sweet multikill headshotting the Grunts here, as well as scooping up more needler ammo. I then waited over here for the next Phantom to drop at this position, taking cover nearby; when the next wave of Brute and Grunt reinforcements arrived, I just grenaded them as soon as they dropped, headshotted any stragglers, and used the rest of the plasma grenades dropped here to tag and destroy the Wraith still loaded in to the Phantom, and then hoof it back to Halsey's lab entrance while avoiding the stray dropship concussion round. I got a ton of points and took out the Wraith that would potentially run my day with an unlucky mortar.

With your needle rifle and needler, you now can decimate the Brute waves as they arrive, then pick off any Jackals behind them. After the Brutes you'll get a bunch of Elites, so I switched to plasma pistols I looted from in front during combat lulls and the DMR (so the Elites didn't jump around and waste my ammo.) Here your goal is simple—headshot grunts, two shot Jackals (hit their shield notch + headshot when they stagger) and noob combo Elites that are close. On Heroic, you can whittle down their shields with DMRs easily as well if they're too far away for the plasma pistol to track. When new waves are being dropped, take the opportunity to use the Spartan Laser (right in front of the lab door) to kill Banshees for easy points. You'll know you're at the very end when a Phantom parks itself right in front of you and drops a bunch of Elites and FRG Grunts. Kill the Grunts first, and if you still have laser ammo you can use it on the gold Elite. You only have to kill a certain percentage of the wave to get a final checkpoint and Halsey will tell you to come in; run over to the door controls and you're done.

My final score on my first successful run was 69,461 and 22:02. Hope these tips help you.

DefestedI HAD THIS. I was at 77k 22min in, and pushed the end-the-level button. The score screen comes up and it shows me at 64k...
Second attempt got me 91k at 21min that survived the final button.

I did this on Heroic with Famine, Fog, and Tilt. no deaths. Ran through as much as I could.

EliteAssassin13Nice!!! I love this level for scoring runs!!!

My current best is 184,515 in exactly 20:00. On Heroic with Famine, Fog, Iron, Thunderstorm, and Tough Luck. Normally I would also use Catch, but the Tank/Wraith is a nade magnet lol.

    The main keys to success:
    - Get to the Tank immediately.
    - Rain hell on everything, especially vehicles.
    - Try to loot a Plasma Pistol before you leave the Tank. (Elites in next areas)
    - Use speedrun tactics in the final area.

    Speedrun Tactics:
Equip Jetpack, to hijack Banshee. Rain hell until Wraith spawns (across bridge) and hijack that. Demolish foes, and 1 or 2 Phantoms until Halsey unlocks the door.

Probably should have made my own guide. 😅

    EliteAssassin13LOVE YOUR GUIDES!!!

I’ve used your speedrunning techniques to help me easily get par scores too 😎. Worked so well for this level. I crushed a 184K run in exactly 20:00 on Heroic with 5 skulls. Your videos are the best, by far. 💯

Link of WindsPar time is so tight on this level that if you die even once, you need to start over. Par time is 20 minutes, and your multiplier plummets to 1x by 25 minutes. It's sadistic.
That being the case... turn on Iron. You can't afford to die anyway, so you might as well. That gives you a lot more room for error (let's be real, we're not all as good as Silver), and you can make up time by buzzing past some of the lower-scoring parts knowing that the extra multiplier is covering you.
I missed one Banshee, skipped a few infantry enemies Silver wiped out, buzzed past the enemies with the Ghost after the tank section, and I still reached the glacier area with more than 65,000. Then, once I had the Banshee, I flew around activating the turrets because... I have 65,000, I don't care if they take my points, I want to get done faster. I then basically followed the guide up through killing the Wraith from behind, then just moved up and ended the level as soon as possible, ignoring those extra kills Silver got at the end; he had time to spare, and you probably won't.
    Result: 19:23, 93,000 points.

Alternatively, if you're getting too frustrated constantly getting killed by grenades, consider turning on Iron, turning off Catch, and following Silver's guide more closely.

Thank you very much for the guide, Silver! I never would have gotten this achievement without it!

Notes for par scores on all levels:
Par scores are heavily influenced by par time.
Note: Competitive Score shows the time multiplier bonus; Regular Score does not. The time multiplier bonus still exists in Regular Score, it only shows up at the end of the mission. With Regular Score, you may not see the time bonus, especially on longer missions (credit: EaseAndInspire)

During "par time" all scoring is tripled.

After "par time", you have 10 minutes where your multiplier goes from 3.00x down to 1.00x. For example, if you kill an elite for a pop up of "+200", the score will show 600 during par time, but then will trickle back down to 200 when the multiplier goes down to 1.00x (and will be 400 if the multiplier is at 2.00x).

After the "ten minute down to 1.00x" period, one of two things happen:
    1. You get a 2nd grace period, of about 10 more minutes. Multiplier is already at 1.00x so nothing else happens with it.
    2. All positive scoring is done. All kills show up as red "0", but you will still lose points for dying, team kills, or checkpoint resets.

After that (Par time + 10-minutes + possible grace period), all positive scoring is done no matter what. Negative scoring is still active.
If you've already achieved the par score, you'll still have to beat the level while making sure you don't have enough negative scoring (deaths) to go below it.

    For this specific mission:

    Option 1:
    Level: The Package
    Par Time: 20:00 minutes
    Par Score: 65,000
    Difficulty: Heroic

Skulls: Catch, Famine, Fog, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Cowbell (non-scoring but accelerates explosions), and Iron skull

    Option 2:
    Level: The Package
    Par Time: 20:00 minutes
    Par Score: 65,000
    Difficulty: Legendary

Skulls: Catch, Famine, Fog, Thunderstorm, Tilt, and Cowbell (non-scoring but accelerates explosions)

This mission is the most difficult for par score. One thing different than most levels is that the post par time grace periods are only 5 minutes each, meaning that you have to get ALL of your scoring done in 30 total minutes (20 min par time + 5 min multiplier countdown + 5 min bonus time)

The only way I found to beat this mission is to use the dashboard quit method:

    1. When you die, pause the game immediately.
    2. Press the Xbox button, highlight the MCC, and quit the game entirely
    3. Start the game back up and click Resume - entire process takes about 90 seconds and you can repeat as often as you like
    4. You will start at your last checkpoint with the checkpoint's time. If you simply saved the mission, the time would continue each time you saved

Arguably, if you use this method, you could also put on Iron skull on Legendary since you'll be quitting out before dying.
The other advantage is since you never die you get a bit of a bonus for each kill level. For example, killing the 1st enemy of the level would be +100, killing the same enemy as your 51st kill will be +120.

    This mission has 6 parts:

    1. Starting area - there are 2 turrets, 2 ghosts and a bunch of grunts with plasma cannons. Kill the turrets first, then kill the ghosts, and then the grunts. Keep restarting until you finish off this sections in under 4 minutes. I restarted at least a dozen times. Pick up a plasma pistol before heading to the tank.

    2. Tank time - use the tank to kill everything and dashboard quit if the tank gets destroyed (and you somehow survive it). The VERY LAST enemy is amini-wraith (Revenant). Instead of destroying it, use the plasma pistol to hijack it instead. Kill the elite and head to the next section while in the vehicle.

    3. Lab entrance - Usually this is very difficult, but using your newly acquired Revenant, you can kill the enemies rather easily quickly . I ran over the two turrets and killed a few elites before heading to the stairs.

    4. The stairs and 5 elites - move up the stairs efficiently by picking off the enemies with your DMR and grenades. You'll receive plenty of DMR ammo shortly. After the stairs, the next section consists of 4 hidden elites and one gold elite. Once again, try to be efficient. You have plenty of ammo by the door so keep shooting. Find/keep a plasma pistol with at least 30 ammo before leaving this section (by activating the door).

    5. Defend the lab part 1 - Run up to the base entrance (about 4 sprint activations do get there). Right next to the armor abilities will be jetpack; pick one up. This is hard to see as it is not a bright symbol like the other armor abilities. Jetpack up on top of the nearby structure, and the jet pack up again. At this point a banshee will be shooting you. Your goal is to hijack the banshee by using the plasma pistol. I actually just jetpacked right up to it without the plasma pistol. Once you have the banshee, kill what you can until the Wriaths spawn. They are across the bridges. They don't move from their area and we will be hijacking them next. I will was really bad at killing enemies with banshee, so it was mostly wasted time for me.

    6. Defend the lab part 2 - Using the banshee, or parking it and then picking off with a DMR, kill the Wraith gunner. The wraith won't move. Once the gunner is dead, you would normally hop in the gunner seat to get the driver out. However, for this mission, he will NEVER get out. Instead, hop onto the tank as if you'll destroy it. Bash the wraith twice (don't plant a grenade). This opens up the driver compartment. Now that you can see that elite sitting in the Wraith, jump on top of the wraith and bash him until he dies. Then you can finally have the wraith.

You'll have the wraith to finish the level. I was at 26 minutes, so that left me 4 minutes to kill enemies to break 65,000 points. At this point, each elite was 400 points, each grunt was 200 points and each vehicle was 800 points, so it wasn't that hard to get 5,000+ points in a short amount of time.

Since I was dashboard quitting the whole time, my mission time was 32 minutes, but in real time is was well over 2 hours.

Let me know if there's anything else to add because this was BY FAR the hardest level for par score.
    Good luck!

z RagnaroK zThe dashboard method really helped me out. Not to mention you can turn the iron skull on for extra points. I squeaked by with 66k points to get the achievement with 7 scoring skills on. Took me a few frustrating attempts though. Great guide. +1
