If you are playing the game from the Steam store, you will unlock BOTH Xbox Live achievements and Steam achievements (at the same time). Your in-game career progress is read from the Xbox Live profile that is signed-in and will unlock the Steam equivalent achievement for the Steam account that is signed-in. However, this only applies to the games in the collection that have already been released on PC (e.g. Halo: Reach, Halo: CE Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, and Halo 3). *You will not be able to unlock any Steam achievements related to Halo 3: ODST or Halo 4 until they are released on PC (date pending).

    Notes:
    * After Halo 3: ODST / Halo 4 are released on PC (and subsequently installed), simply launching the Halo: The Master Chief Collection from the Steam library with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) software and signing into the Xbox Live account that acquired the Halo 3: ODST / Halo 4 achievements previously on Xbox One will automatically unlock the Steam equivalent achievement(s).

At present, the maximum obtainable achievements on Steam is 511. It should technically be 513 but Aficiando and A Preference for Pain are unobtainable (only affecting the Steam achievement; Xbox Live achievement is still obtainable using Steam). Once Aficiando and A Preference for Pain get fixed in a later patch, re-launching the game on Steam with EAC and using the same Xbox Live account will automatically unlock the Steam equivalent achievement(s).

godsandm0nstersCan you complete the playlist with a mixture of solo and co-op completions? I'm trying to work out what the best way to approach this is.

MrKoolxDood@godsandm0nsters I believe you can do this and still get the achievement. But the scores and times from the previous LASO missions on the playlist will be wiped but still it should not affect the achievement.

Edit: This solution has been vetted and will not be taken down. Reporting it wastes both your time and the site mods' time. See the comments below around comment #65-70 (depending on if any earlier comments get deleted) for a direct response from a mod requesting that people stop reporting this.

Ctrl+F search for Palesius to jump to all his helpful comments below.

This works for all titles that have been added to Halo PC.

343i officially supports mods on TMCC for PC. Mods do disable achievements. We have a news article right here on TA discussing this. However, via oversight or error they left the cloud save shared between versions. You can take advantage of their slip-up to pop achievements on the non-mod version on PC after playing on the mods-enabled version. (afaik the save doesnt transfer over to Xbox anymore)

    The short version:
    1. Play the LASO playlist (or any individual mission if going for solo legendary, par time, par score, speedrun, lone wolf 150k) with mods enabled.

    2. Save and quit at the epilogue for the LASO playlist, or at the end-of-mission cut scene for any mission except Pillar of Autumn which must be played from the final checkpoint at the MAC cannon. For Lone Wolf there is a checkpoint at the cut scene after you die.

    3. Load up your saved mission or resume the LASO playlist on the non-mod PC version. (One commentor stated that individual missions must be resumed on the same platform so if you save/quit an individual mission on modded PC, you must complete it on non-modded PC. I cannot confirm this personally.)

    4. Skip epilogue and die on lone wolf for LASO playlist. Finish the mission if doing a campaign mission (par time or par score). Note: For the solo legendary and legendary speedrun achs this means you'll need to switch back and forth and do one mission at a time.

I can't link you to what mods to use.

    1) I dont even know what they are and
    2) I want this solution to stay up.

For more detailed and up to date info check the forums for a helpful thread on this.

Lmao I'm looking at all those comments from ppl saying "do legit, git gud, just practice bro" you know, the save/quit exploit you most definitely used to bypass the Iron skull is not legit bro, the glitches you used to skip parts of missions like on Outskirts is not doing legit bro, using speedrunning tactics is not playing legit bro, using save/quit to not get the mission restarded because you died is cheating, the Iron skull wasn't designed to work like that, I doubt anyone that keeps saying stuff like this actually finished a LASO 100% legit, especially Halo 2 lmao, I couldn't care less about how people get their achievements in a game that actually supports mods (I do have a problem if they use external programs to get unobtainable achievements tho, that is cheating), I might even use this method cuz I rly don't want to do all my LASOs twice just cuz I got my old account robbed

So far I've just been using Mythic Tyrants LASO guide from back when it was a weekly challenge and it is working like a charm. He explains what he is doing as well so you have commentary. *see edit though*

vl Insane lvJust finished this. For last mission I recommend killing the elites in that final room. I ran by them first time then waited to jump on cannon. I would just get melted everytime. I also didnt have full health. So had to redo mission. Killed all the elites, grabbed a health pack, then started cannon part and finished it. Looked on leaderboards it's funny how most people obviously cheated. Pathetic. Laso isn't even that hard just have to be really patient.
