How to unlock the New Ways to Save a Quid achievement

    Actions
    The Voice you're looking to hear is Gunnery Sergeant Edward "Buck", known for his role in Halo 3: ODST. He'll appear randomly during one of the objectives in New Alexandria. Specifically, during the "in-between" missions, separate from the actual 3 Main Objectives of the level. If you don't hear him when playing, try Restarting the Mission, and he should appear at some point.

    Blood DMStruggling with this one.
    I've tried it on xbox and pc with no luck. I've tried the usual method of delete local save which has worked for multiple other achievements but again with no luck.

    I have 100% played the correct side mission on both the main save and with deleting the local save.

    Anyone think of anything else I could try?

    Blood DMI just managed to unlock this after struggling, see previous post.
    For anyone interested I had to play via Cloud Gaming and stopped the game save sync.
    I lucked out with the first side mission being the required one. It popped within a few seconds of Buck starting to speak.

    kahlurI have a theory that the Buck side mission will be more active during certain dates. I've played this mission a good dozen times over the course of the past few months and today, November 11, 2023 (Veteran's Day), is the first time the mission actually came up. I replayed this mission three times today and all three times I've gotten Buck to come up.

    metallicafan459A shame the audio clip of the side mission is talked over - so it’s not as clear what to listen out for! :(

    My English is certainly insufficient, but I did not really understand the procedure to follow with the two guides to UltimateHero And SilverScorpion. But I found a video for a glitch on YT that is clearer than the other YT video above. Look at the beginning, the process is very clear :


    Go to the helicopter after the 1st mission. If Buck is not mentioned, return immediately to the last checkpoint. I got it on the 3rd try.
